Physical exertion, no eating for hours before bed, and reading usually works for me.

Lately though, it takes snuggling with the other half to get me to doze off.

Or work out! Makes you tired...Also on a show I watched they say that looking at a screen (laptop, T.V) makes you more awake.

1)Stay out of your bedroom as much as possible during the day, being in there too much can make you associate the room with other things besides sleeping.
    2) Rub one out. 100% guaranteed to work
3)Ask your wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend how their day was, you'll be asleep before she/he gets the first sentence out.
    4)Rub one out, again.

I've been having the same problem for about 2 weeks. I've been losing about and hour of sleep (sometime more) each night. It's because of stress for me, though.

Benadryl. Non-habit forming, safe and I don't feel drowy or hung over the next morning after I've taken it.

Get yourself a cold adult beverage and force yourself to watch a boring black and white movie. Works everytime for me, and I've suffered from insomnia my whole life, and night terrors for the last twelve years.
