Freaky Sleep Paralysis: Being Awake in Your Nightmares | Wired Science | Wired.com I've experienced this twice. The first time it was horrifying; the second time it was amusing. 1st time: I was about 4 years old. I awoke, and a miniature Ronald McDonald was standing on my chest, pantomiming fuck-knows-what, and speaking to me, but I couldn't hear him. I tried with all my might to scream, but no sound came out. 2nd time: I was about 17 or 18, had a massive fever. I awoke, and saw a few of my ninja turtle action figures mingling on my chest. It was pretty awesome.
