Freaky Sleep Paralysis: Being Awake in Your Nightmares | Wired Science | Wired.com

I've experienced this twice. The first time it was horrifying; the second time it was amusing.

1st time: I was about 4 years old. I awoke, and a miniature Ronald McDonald was standing on my chest, pantomiming fuck-knows-what, and speaking to me, but I couldn't hear him. I tried with all my might to scream, but no sound came out.

2nd time: I was about 17 or 18, had a massive fever. I awoke, and saw a few of my ninja turtle action figures mingling on my chest. It was pretty awesome.

That's intense. I think I heard about this though on the Discovery Channel about a year ago. It was an explanation to someone who believed they were visited (and possibley violated) by aliens, or something of that matter.

That Ninja Turtle thing you mentioned sounds awesome though.

Is it like that episode of Xena, that's just a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream?

Yeah. In fact, as it was happening, I remembered the Ronald McDonald thing. I didn't even have a fever when the Ronald McDonald thing happened.

    Fuck clowns.

Nope, it's more like you're wide awake, wrapped in steel chains, with a tiny demon standing on your chest.

I've experienced something like this once when I had a fever, I thought there was a rabid ferret (????) in my bed, under my covers, trying to attack and bite me. It was f***ing terrifying

Are you sure it wasn't a random ferret? Maybe it really happened...

EDIT: Where the hell is RandomFerret, anyway?

i think i had this when i was like 3, where a monster (it was red. that's it. red. nothing more, nothing less) was eating me and my uncle dragged me out of my room. except. i could see my uncle dragging me out of the room and trying to wake me up from a third person view, while still seeing my dream. kinda like picture in picture

I get it once in a while, but without the chest stuff. I pretty much just look around without the ability to move and wait for it to end. Doesn't really bother me though.
