Seriously! Why do they make Skaywarp an exclusive to someplace all the time?

    - Classics - Target
    - Titanium / War Within - SDCC
    - Henkei - Japan
    - Masterpiece - Walmart
    - Robot Masters - Japan
    - Aramada - TRU Japan
    - ROTF - Walmart
    - DOTM - Japan

The only non-exclusive Skywarp I could find was Animated, and I'm already worried that if there's a WFC Skywarp it's going to be an exclusive again. Why do they make it hard for us to complete the classic Seeker trio in a single mold?

Armada wasn't exclusive. Neither was Cybertron, if you count it.

MP shouldn't count, since they all were exclusive. And at least he came out, unlike TC.

He was just as available as TC in RM... they were a two pack.

Thundercracker has had it better in the west, of late. Generations and DotM, plus 07 movie. None of which were exclusive. But keep in mind that Classics Skywarp was a hell of a lot easier to get ahold of compared to Classics Thundercracker. Until Generations came out about five years later. And MP Skywarp is much more common, too.

That said, there's no reason to think that Skywarp will be the tough one to get, they basically seem to alternate availability. If anything, it'll probably be Skywarp's "turn".

Unless TFWiki is lying or I misunderstood what's in it.

Okay, he's still a con exclusive.

Based presumably on the perception that sales don't justify Starscream, then Skywarp AND Thundercracker.

Many will argue against, i wonder if anyone will argue for.

Maybe someone thinks black jets sell or look better? People dig black decos. It did wonders for Optimus Prime and X-Force Wolverine. Fans gobble that stuff up.

    The Japanese version.

    US was a mass release.

On the other hand, Hasbro skipped Skywarp for DOTM and opted for Thundercracker.

I'm not disagreeing with you, i just don't particularly understand their reasoning.

... and when was the last time they did a black redeco of Optimus Prime as a mass release?

and this is why I don't collect Seekers as a complete team. There's always at least one of them that's really hard to find. If it isn't Skywarp, then it's TC, or one of the coneheads.

I actually help this toy in my hands at TRU and ended up passing on it. Rare? Maybe. Exclusive to Japan? I suppose somebody could have ordered it, had it shipped, built it a new package, then returned it to TRU...

... that doesn't count and you know it.

They just did that to get my hopes up that they've finally gotten over their phobia of Prime redecos.

I know we're supposed to pretend we're not psychotic misanthropes who just happen to collect Transformers instead of say, cat heads or human teeth, but I would gladly sacrifice the life of any one of you to never, ever again see grown men freak out over a black repaint of Optimus Prime. It's stupid; black repaints of Optimus are stupid. The color black is only cool to 15 year-olds.

In this thread: being released in only one country makes something "Exclusive". Because shopping on the internet doesn't exist.

I don't care about a black repaint of Prime so much as ANY redeco of Prime. Hasbro's been incredibly afraid to release a Prime redeco, I'm glad to see that finally ending with FoC Ultra Magnus. Same with Bumblebee, which broke with WfC Cliffjumper.

... and what's wrong with cool to a 15 year old? They're marketing towards kids. Saying something is appealing to their target audience is just... silly.

Yeah, except that you need to pay 5 times the original retail price not counting shipping.

Higher cost doesn't make it a non-mass release. It's just a mass release in another country.

    My DOTM Skywarp was.......$28 shipped?

So there's a possible element of hyperbole there, Unless you live in a country with a lacking postal system, requiring extra secure postage, and over zealous customs officials.

Some people are just personally offended by not being able to buy something locally at Target/Walmart etc.

But on the other hand, some people genuinely cannot buy toys on the Internet.

Also bear in mind, and for those of you tired of hearing it, it's a statement, not a complaint, US retail IS a lot lower than retail in many other countries.
