What are the clamps on his weapons for? something I obviously missed in the instructions? a canceled feature? Was he supposed to be a larger class, a la universe galvatron?
Yep good call, I forgot to post that. From what I've heard Ironhide's guns and Skystalker's axes can attatch to Brawn's railing too...but I haven't tried it myself yet so can't really say that's a certainty.
As said before, they definitely can attach to Recon Ironhide & Brawn's bars, but they also can clip on to Skystalker's forearms (saw it in someone's video review & tried it... it works). It makes it look like Skystalker's arm is a pincher claw.
taking into account all of your explainations, what, is this a new gimick? why is it not in the directions? I think it would be great if there was more built in interaction between weapons.
To the best of my knowledge, I think Skystalker was designed specifically to be a companion toy to Mindwipe. His interaction with the rest of the toys in the line is a bonus.
Actually, yes. Hasbro stated somewhere (I forgot where exactly) that interaction between multiple figures is going to be a key aspect of the NEST line. Hence why you can put Bludgeon's swords on Recon Ironhide's guns (or the small one in his hand) and you can use Recon Ironhide's weapons with Brawn, Bludgeon or many other figures. Skystalker is the same in that the clamps are the right size to fit on multiple figures and was probably put on so that other figures could use them other than just Skystalker.
