Looks like every Roland Emmerich movie ever made got smashed into a blender and put on film.

I'll rent it when it hits DVD. Doesn't look too bad, though.

i'll wait until i see it before i can make a proper judgement, but already it looks better than the rest (independence day, war of the worlds (remake), cloverfield et al). although trailers can be deceptive.

    Ebay:
i kept missing the trailer so i researched it on IMDB. the trivia section was enlightening (if very light.) over 800 VFX shots...
but what got me was that one piece of trivia was that the movie was filmed almost entirely at one of the director's condos...

    what the hell?

this has me perplexed or interested.

the only thing about ID4 and this movie that makes me sad is seeing the epic dogfight scenes and thinking, "Where in the heck is my L.A. Robotech film???"

With the TF animations, ID4, Skyline and even District 9's effects, i am waiting impatiently for the big enchilada....

    will watch this on dvd.

Going against the grain here but there's something that totally screams "straight to DVD" about this movie to me.

You're not alone on the one.
This looks horrible to me. I'm really getting sick of movies using that 'We should have listened' tagline. Ugh.
I'll see it and give it a chance, but right now it just seems really bad. But I know I'm in the minority here. I hope it turns out better than what the trailers have to offer.
