Do you think the name of Skyfire should have stuck to its Transformer? I like the name of Jetfire, but it has to be admitted that Skyfire is a pretty awesome name ("The eternal glory of Skyfire!"). Can it possibly be used again for a Transformer character?

 

I don't think it should've been used outside G1 instead of Jetfire. I'd be fine with it being used along side Jetfire, however


There was a character in Energon named Skyblast, who was based on Skyfire. However, due to trademark reasons, they couldn't call him Skyfire

 

Should be as far as I am concerned, its a great name, they should have kept it.

 

Well the Japanese have no problem whatsover, take the Takara Henkei release   Hasbro on the other hand, different story. Dreamwave managed to sneak in a Skyfire title in but that's as far as it went. Probably has to do with the fact they own the Jetfire trademark and see no reason to go after and use Skyfire.

Jetfire is Armada, ROTF and TFA incarnations.

 

It likely isn't as simple as that, given even the original toy had to be named Jetfire.
