I think classics jetfire is as close as they'll get.

I really want an update to the Classics Jetfire though. It's too small as a voyager, and things like the feet can vastly be improved upon. Don't get me wrong, I've always really liked the figure, but I think that I'd be really happy to see another go at this one.

    I'm with you 200%! I wish there's a 12 inch MP Skyfire, not the Jetfire/VF-1S design.

I feel that way about a lot of the first run of Classics. Mainly Jetfire, Prime (Which I GUESS we have with the G2 mold), Tank Megatron, Rodimus and the Seeker mold.

the only way they could probably improve that figure is if they made him bigger and slightly more detailed as a leader class figure :)

We already have the classics Jetfire/Skyfire mold and I think that's the best we're gonna have for a while.

More articulation wouldn't hurt. Classics Thunderwing uses the same foot transformation idea without the gearing and added ankle articulation as well.

That is hardly the "only way" they could improve him. First and foremost, his articulation is awful, with all his swivels being below the elbows and knees when they need to be above them. His "H-thighs" (that he shares with Astrotrain) are fairly clumsy and its their fault that he has the swivels in the wrong place. So... scrap those thighs altogether and replace them with normal ones, thus leaving you with plenty of room to rearrange the swivels. As for his biceps not having swivels, there's just no excuse.

Ehhh. I think being a toy made in 2006 could be a valid enough excuse.

Eh, Jetfire's head/helmet was way cooler than Skyfire's generic face. Maybe if it included a helmet.

weird...was thinking of starting a thread like this yesterday...

henkei skyfire feels alot more like skyfire if you ask me, the cockpit and insignia is such a nice finishing touch...but he does suffer from poor articulation, would love a slightly bigger, more poseable skyfire...and lose the missiles, please - that just ruins him.

If he had really awkward arm design like Rodimus, sure. But they had room to put a swivel -below- the elbow, and there seems to be plenty of room in the bicep for one.

Just a thought......... since the original Jetfire was the mold from the Takatoku Macross VF-1S.......what if (and this is a big what if).....Hasbro got together with Yamato and used a VF-1S mold from their line and repainted it as Jetfire?

I know I'd soooo buy it in a heartbeat.....

I love it but know that a new one could be way better. Love to see a more conventional cockpit and nose section, better hip joints, bicep swivels and more compact/disguised form in alt mode.

With the licensing and royalties they'd have to do for it, I doubt it.
