In G1, are Sky/Jetfire and Shockwave supposed to be roughly the same size? I know that Shockwave is supposed to be a big, Energon guzzling character, and in Dreamwave's "War Within: Dark Ages", Jetfire and Shockwave meet to exchange scientific notes, and they are about the same size, and their actual toys are about the same, but in the cartoon Skyfire stands about two heads taller than Megatron, while Shockwave is about the same size as Megs. The reason I ask is because I've got a Jetfire custom made from a Banpresto Valkarie, and it's a good scale to the World's Smallest Transformers, and it's also the same size as my Action Masters Shockwave, but Shocky TOWERS over all other WST Decepticons. Just wanted other's opinions. Anyone?:confused2

Check out the Ultimate Doom episodes; there's a fight scene between the Autobots and Shockwave's cybertronian deceps. It seems to me like they're the same size in that fight scene, IMO.

Although, I think Skyfire should be much bigger considerin' he can transport at least two minibots (ex. Brawn & Bumblebee) and one regular sized character (ex. Hound). For me, Shockwave should be at least the size of Ultra Magnus (i.e. 1-2 heads taller than Prime and Megs); whereas Jetfire should be the size of Dinobots (2-3 heads taller than Shocks and Magnus).

The scales in the different media vary, that's your answer. The cartoon made him a big guy, but I think the comics made him a bit more in scale. It's like how a few other characters vary in size between depictions.

In the G1 cartoon, Skyfire is definately taller than Shockwave as he manhandles Megatron in "Fire in the Sky" - Megatron and Shockwave are similar in height in the cartoon.

In the Marvel comics, they're of similar height as seen in Issue 12...

    I haven't checked out the new comics yet...so that's all I know.

Pffft. That aint' nothin. Astrotrain can apparently transport 6 seekers, Soundwave, a bunch of insecticons, Megatron, Blitzwing, 4 tape 'bots, and freakin' DEVASTATOR ALL AT ONCE! I guess that makes Astrotrain a good 100-150 heads taller than Skyfire, eh? :p

"Jettison some weight or we'll never make it to Cybertron"

Dying Thundercracker - "Soundwave, to make us one 'bot lighter would you mind turning into a tape player instead of chucking me out of the shuttle?"

    Soundwave - "Eeeehhhhh..... I dunno"

Dying Thundercracker - "C'mon, remember when I fed Ravage and Laserbeak for you when you took that cruise two months ago?"

Soundwave - "But....I really like to look out the window"

Dying Thundercracker - "*Sigh* All right" *gets jettisoned from Astrotrain*

Jetfire has a rigid red robowang and Shockwave has a flat, flaccid gray trigger. No contest.

A factor that I didn't like in Transformers was the "change size" thing. Skyfire was big in robot mode, but it seems that he was bigger in Jet mode :p

Soundwave and Megatron shrinking a lot...

I think that theory of Subspace is good after all.
