So how do you use the bar codes? The sales people I have talked to at my local Wal-Mart don't seem that helpful or willing to check their computers--would giving them a bar code help in getting them to look it up? I am searching for the new Alternators, but no one ever seems to get them in.  

 

I have a similar question. I called the Target stores in my area and they said they can't check stock with a barcode. They said something about a 10-digit number somewhere else on the box. If anyone can post that number for the new Alternators (all post-Sideswipe figures) that would be very helpful.

If you're checking at Wal*Mart, you can get the Wal*Mart Item Number from their Web site.

 

UPC numbers don't work too well for Wal-Mart. I worked there for a few years, so listen up:

In most of teh action figure toy line,s they are grouped by ASSORTMENT. Example, all Energon deluxes are one assortment. Now, while they all ahve unique UPCs, they will still register as the same item.
If there are 25 Snowcats and 25 Infernos, when you get the stooges ro check the inventory, it will show fifty Energon Deluxe. Not very helpful in fining a particular figure.
Now, should there be say...ONE Ironhide and ONE Jetfire on the shelf, and the inventory says 20 Energon Mega, then they obviously have some out back or stuffed in places they shouldn't be. Usually that means several cases out back. Meaning Shockblast should be within reach.

Also, The inventory system will say many are in Transit, IE, on a truck on teh way to the store...two weeks MAX for delivery to said store.
It also shows how many are on order, the actual percent markup, how many have been sold in the last month, etc.

Now, most of teh stooges are two lazy to type the damn numbers into those little Telxxon guns they have, so you just need to be persistant with finding someone who will. There is no rule at Wal-Mart saying they CAN'T do that for a customer, so don't let them bullshit you.

One final point, this applies to Canadian Wally Worlds. Not sure how applicable this is to teh states. They DO use the SMART Inventory System. It's global satalites system. So this stuff should be pretty consistant.

I do not know if the Silverstreak UPC differentiates LHD v. RHD, though it is highly unlikely that they do have two (2) different UPCs. Just in case they do, the SS UPC above is from my RHD Silver Streak.
