I'll call it: Everyone does a personality 180, the bots lose their guns, and Earth is really metallic like Cybertron underneath all the dirt.

But seriously, as long as he keeps his radical "good ideas" to himself, I'll probably be fine with this.

Or - the Transformers all need to get in touch with themselves and find their inner peace in order to transform, even though that's their friggin' JOB.

Bob Skir is the guy we blame for Beast Machines.

I loved Beast Machines. Then again I'm in the minority for a lot of things.

Even though Marty Isenberg was a co-writer and equally to blame

Marty redeemed himself, lets give skir the same chance

Well I thought Beast Machines was fantastic. A series I've watched many a times through. (And yes, I like beast wars too)

I wouldn't worry about it though. Skir isn't there to write a series, just some episodes. I'm sure both he and hasbro in general have received quite enough death threats from "conserned fans" that he'll have a tight leash. :)

Well, Skir also wrote for the awesome Batman: The Animated series, so I'm sure that he's heard of people disapproving his Beast Machines work and will stick to the norm for Prime. While he has stated that he doesn't write characters who use guns, that was ten years ago, and he has admitted that there are some heroes who do need guns.

He's not that bad is he. Beast Machines wasn't all his fault, it takes at least two to tango. My only problems with Beast Machines are the complete 180's with some characters like Rattrap and some of the shit designs, but other then that, the show was pretty good.

I don't see what the problem is, really.

Whatever we thought of Beast Machines is in material, as whatever he writes for Transformers: Prime has work with the story bible, which I'm very sure it will. It won't be Beast Machines and that's great.

What about Mr. Forward or DiTillio, will they be writing episodes too? ...I haven't been paying attention to who's been writing what, so if they've already written a show, please go easy on me (f^_^; )

To be fair Skir had no prior Transformers knowledge coming into Beast Machines and was encouraged not to do any research by Hasbro. Even then his script will have to go through the head editors.

They ended up doing research on their own prerogative though. Which turned out nicely. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of Forward and DiTillio's work, Beast Wars is still my favourite series thus far. But I'm willing to give Skir a chance. As long as they keep Prime going with momentum I'll be happy. The AEC days of seasonal reboots are still fresh in my mind. I'd like something to go on longer, hopefully beyond the 3 seasons that they're talking about for Prime.

i think beast machines was a really good stand alone show. skir is a good writer and good at creating and atmosphere and telling serious in depth stories, he was just the wrong guy to try and continue telling the beast wars story because he had his own ideas that he had to sort of force onto the characters. good news to hear hes coming back.

Who? Do you mean Dan Didio, DC Comics Co-Publisher and the asshole behind the DC Reboot? Yep, he was. He was the one that told Skir and Marty Isenberg to disreagard any previous incarnations of the series in writing Beast Machines, because he thought Beast Wars was too "continuity-heavy".

It'll be interesting to see what Skir does. I don't hate Beast Machines, nor do I love it (though the Vehicons were fucking awesome), so I guess I'm neutral about this.
