Good for the Penguins, they were the only funny thing about those shitful movies and they should be recognised.

I'm actually glad about this, those penguins are the only reason I watch the madagascar films, and I think we all knew kung fu panda 3 was coming

The Penguins always remind me of Captain Jack Sparrow in that the public has responded far more positively to them than the so-called main characters.

Penguins are the only good thing about the Madagascar movies,so a movie is great news.

    Panda 3 is great too

    Colour me excited! :D

Well, despite the overwhelming Will and Elizabeth love-story, Jack Sparrow would definitely still be considered a "main character" even in Pirates 2 and 3 (and obviously 1 and 4). I think a better example might be the public response for a character like Coulson in the MCU. Supporting character who showed up a couple of times in several movies, but was such a cool, likeable character that people were vying for him to get his own movie for pete's sake. Or even an example like Puss in Boots from the Shrek franchise getting his own following or Wolverine getting his own movies (inb4 "The X-Men movies were already Wolverine movies"). Your point still stands, but I think using Jack Sparrow is a little inaccurate.

Well, Jack Sparrow is actually a mildly good comparison if we stick to the first movie, there he was fully intended to be a secondary character [it says so in the director commentary] who would only be important in the first movie and probably vanish off the franchise aafter that, and then the series would be about Will's Flynn-esque adventures. But Johnny Depp stole everyone's thunder and things switched around [with him becoming the main lead in the following movies].

But honestly, a lot of POTC characters have similar stories [Barbossa, intended to be only a main villain for the first movie, became the most recurring character of the franchise after Jack himself, Pintel and Ragetti acquired more and more screen-time as time pased by, e.t.c]

Also, Kung Fu Panda 3? Hell. Yes. the second was absolutely mind-blowing, if they keep on this route, they'll end up surpassing Pixar.

Some more news, according to one of the producers of the Cartoons, the movie is unrelated to the show, but it could change, and oh it seems production on the cartoon is over

I didn't know Cumberbatch was in this. The description does sound pretty fun, and they have been one of the main highlights of all the Madagascar movies.
