Exactly, though I now I have to see how my Dad's going to react to this, he's quite the drinker of Mountain Dew.

Edit: Just asked, it was hilarious. It didn't help that he just finished drinking a can of Mountain Dew when I told him.

Fun household tip: Coke is a weak acid, and pouring a 2L bottle down the drain can help remove drain clogs. Mountain Dew is acidic in a similar way.

Also, OP, you know embalming fluid is to preserve corpses, not liquify them, right?

<snark>:lol  at some of the responses in this thread.

Carbonic acid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Guess what kiddies, your pop is fizzy, it is acid! Mt Dew, Dr Pepper, Choke, Pepsi or whatever. </snark>

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a nice big steak to eat while I enjoy some Mt. Dew ;)

I heard that chemical is responsible for thousands of deaths a year, and that any corporation in America can dump as much of it as they want into lakes and rivers with NO LEGAL CONSEQUENCES.

Dihydrogen monoxide is so caustic that it SHOULD be able to disintegrate your skin in a matter of hours. Scientists are mystified why this doesn't happen.

Excessive exposure to dihydrous monoxide can still completely alter the surface of human skin after a remarkably short period of time, especially sensitive areas like fingertips.

Dihydrogen monoxide is, coincidentally, one of the most effective industrial solvents used today.
