Testing out and draining a shiny new pen. Since I try to dig up stuff others usually don't draw, I went for a Transtech promo, sort of along the lines of the Beast Machines promo images that just showed the beast modes in shadow. Drawing took about thirty minutes, half-assed colors took about 45.

Top- Immorticon, who I figure would've been the real Big Bad in Transtech given the name.

Bottom- Nightscream (w/made-up legs, since he doesn't have any on the concepts), cranky Optimus Primal, leader Cheetor who doesn't listen to previously dead Primal anymore, Silverbolt in the air, Blackarachnia hanging on in the needy way she developed in Beast Machines, and Beast Machines Rattrap who I'm saying probably retired with Botanica since he didn't get any Transtech art.

His face sort of reminds me of Bone Crushers in TFTM concept ^.^

    Still awesome art though!

Looking good, but from what I heard that Optimus was supposed to be the original one, oddly enough. Plus, you forgot Depth Charge. :p

    Yup, G1 Prime -

    From Wikipedia:

The rest of the concept art is at http://www.tfarchive.com/fandom/transtech/

Of course, on the Beast Machines side of things, Obsidian and Strika would have figured into it too, according to Bob Skir. And I suspect Primal might have been brought back in some form, too.

Still, that's a pretty good teaser piece, Spark. Me likes. :D

It doesn't. Hasbro put it on ice to give us RID and everything else since. Damn shame IMO.

Transtech was supposed to pick up where Beast Machines left off, which would have made it a direct continuation of the G1/BW/BM continuity, instead of making way for a dozen different and heavily-contradictory continuities.

    Nice job...

ive been reading up on BM/BW and the abandoned Transtech concept. Its a shame as it would have made sense for it to be next. The TFS still look very alien and animal like. I'm guessing IF it made it to a show then these concepts would have been what they looked like pre earth too. Which would have made more sense as most of these look very similar to WW especially Optimus's alt mode. When crash landing on earth Teletran-1 would have scanned earth vehicles and earthlings and fused those ideas together to make them more appealing too humans in robot mode, hence the more humaniod faces and body shapes.

Someon should make a fan comic..I demand eeet!!

Heh, I've been working off that first sheet (without the written details) the whole time and assumed it was Primal since it's got his Beast Machines head plastered on the front of the truck.

    Depth Charge I just forgot.

More Transtech stuff needs to be leaked so I can get some new designs. Mmm... Transtech.

Yeah, I was following along the Behind the Toys coverage when they were revealing it bit by bit. The guy who revealed it noted that he's still trying to get access to a Zip disc that had more info on it, but that was quite a while ago.

Superb work d00d. I loved Transtech; so much that I entered a 3D TT Starscream pic in last year's Botcon art contest.

Oh yes, I know. I had your Starscream robot mode render as my background for a long while.

I wondered what happend to those designs. I also wondered if the prototypes would ever be mas produced, if so I would totaly snag them all.

The prototypes that haven't fallen into private hands have probably been destroyed at this point.
