Anyone else think that the movie makers are planning matter displacement transformations for the next movie?

Reason why I think that is after all the "nothing shrinks" talk, they have the Allspark go from a Borg ship to a Rubik cube. If the cube creates life with it's power, maybe some of them have the power to condense their matter too.

    Whaddya think?

No and I hope not anyway. The Allspark is/has godlike abilities. Transformers do not.

I don't honestly think they will. As stated before, the Allspark has powers the Transformers don't know of, or have themselves. Shrinking itself is one of those powers.

Frenzy was able to turn from a 4ft robot to a 1ft boombox, to a cell phone....

I really hope they don't. I love G1 Megatron and Soundwave but all that shrinking stuff would look pretty ridiculous done in the movie vein. Frenzy was pushing it by being able to turn into a phone, even if he was just a head at that point.

Different situation - the 4ft to 1ft issue was simple transformation. At 1ft, his parts were closer together, denser; he would have weighed the same either way. At 4ft, he was quite spindly. On the second part, the cell phone was only comprised of his head. The phone was still denser than the mode that changed into it, but it had far fewer parts going into it than the boombox.

I think we can expect for the movie transformations to be much better as more movies are made. You've got these special effects artists trying to do a whole new thing and they are really into it. I would expect seeing Prime completely transform and get blown away. Expect better transformations!

there's no way the whole head and spider body could have fit into a phone that is 1/10th his size.

I think it's worth pointing out that Mikaylah never actually took out her cell phone after that point, she just shoved it into her purse in a hurry and took off with it. Otherwise she might have noticed that it was a lot heavier than it used to be.

No. I want it to look right: I want truck robots to be around 25-feet tall, I want car robots to be around 17 feet tall, and so on and so forth.

Y'know, I'll even go out on a limb and suggest that the phone might not have even been much heavier. Material-wise, it's not unreasonable to imagine that Frenzy was very...shit, I can't ever remember the antonym of dense. Yeah, he was bullet-proof, but density is independent of hardness or other properties that would enhance resistance to impact. Titanium, for example, is much stronger than other denser metals.

Exactly. And my disbelief was not suspended. In fact it got up out of it's chair, pointed at the screen and yelled "That's bloody STUPID!" :)

He didn't have a body when he became the phone. He was just a head at that point.

He created his little spider legs from the bottom of his head and scurried around... point is: head has too much mass for the cellphone. besides, a cellphone has hardly any metal in it. It is mostly plastic and carbonfibre. The weight difference would be huge.
