OK, hoping for a bit of help on this one. I am working on a piece featuring my Transformers: Universe Team that I am writing about. I used existing molds for the characters but am trying to figure out how much taller one should be to another.

EX: Optimus in the Cartoons was originally the tallest in the Autobots, but when they introduced the Dinobots, Grimlock towers over him.

The Characters I will be doing are:
    G1 Hot Rod
    G1 Shockwave
    G1 Grimlock
Armada Prime (Repainting into a different character)
Armada Overload (Repainting into a different character)
Armada Jetfire (Repainting into a different character)
RID Prowl (Repainting into a different character)
Armada Air Defense Team (Repainting them into different character)
    ALT Windcharger
BM Night Slash Cheetor (Repainting into a different character)
    RID Hot Shot
    G1 Skyfire

I figure the smallest in the group will be the Armada Air Defense Team, about human size; then BM Night Slash Cheetor and RID Hot Shot would be about the same size and bigger then the Air Defense Team but only by a little, maybe two heads worth; ALT Windcharger, G1 Hot Rod, and RID Prowl are up next and are about G1 Prowl size compared to RID Hot Shot being about Mini-Bot size and the Air Defense Team only reaching G1 Hot Rod's Knee; Armada Prime, Overload and Jetfire would be all about G1 Ironhide or G1 Prime, somewhere in between; G1 Shockwave is taller by a hair, and G1 Grimlock is about a head's worth over Shockwave; and finally, Skyfire towers over them all by being doubled the size of G1 Hot Rod.

Do you think I have the heights about right, or have I lost you all

I think you should try and figure out the bot size when you look at the alt mode. ok. The minicons are mini and on their own, but with the others, all the cars should be just as tall as each other (mebbe one like a head bigger) but that's it. Prime's a truck he should be bigger etc etc. that's what I find the best explenation. Let the mass shifting be for the non earth vehicle bots.

I was working on a project for scaling all transformers based on their alt modes.

I was curious which minicons would tower over their ultra brothers.

The beast modes took all the fun out of it. Since Waspinator and Inferno are actualy (much) smaller then their toys.

    not really

we know that waspinator is about the size, if not bigger, than a real cheetah [according to one of the BW eps. Cheetor spotted waspinator and thought it was an overgrown giant wasp before it transformed and shot at him]

    No,,,,, :confused2

I meant scalling based on their Alt forms.

A bug,,, would be scaled as (stick with me here) a BUG. :stick:

No 8 ft. CGI insects need apply

yeah, I like not going by their alt modes to judge their size. If it weren't for the Mass Shifting in G1, Starscream and the Seekers would tower over all the Autobots and Megatron.

and when it came to the Beast Wars, it wouldn't have been as much fun if their alt modes decided their size, poor Rattrap up against Megatron
