Why not, his bios, DW, G1, make him out to be one bad mother, why is he not the leader of the cons? no ambition, not the leader type, what?

P.S. I'm sick and a bit loopy on meds, hehe....

Because Hasbro wants Optimus Prime vs Megatron/Galvatron. Nuff said.

Sixshot is a weapon. You don't put the weapon in charge; you let it loose on your enemies.

I guess he always felt more comfortable in a consulting role, instead of as a leader or a team player.

No desire, I reckon. While the power and skills are definitely there, he is more of a loner and because of his 'role' he probably would not feel right. Plus those other twerps would cramp his style.

I'll be all for it. The Megatron/Galvatron leadership role is getting old. I say replace Prime too with somebody else other then another character with Prime or Optimus in the name too.

    A reboot is always good.

Sixshot was climbing the ranks of the Decepticons; he was de facto Decepticon city commander on earth in the G1 cartoon. He could take the reigns.

I agree with this, especially given his depiction in the IDW books.

Agreed on the "point and let loose" weapon classification. Sixshot was built to destroy, and that's exactly what he does. If he had to, he probably would make for a decent Decepticon leader, but outside of his original G1 toy he wasn't a big player even in the cartoon (he appeared for less than a minute to destroy the Ariealbots), and with today's manufacturing costs the likleyhood we're ever going to get a Sixshot even close to being a sixchanger again is very, very low. We got close, though, as Sixshot was considered for Animated, but was replaced with Blitzwing due to said production cost problems.

Well, he was the leader of the Decepticons' Earth forces in "The Headmasters".

I think he'd make a great Supreme Commander. Just keep Daniel out of the way.

Ninja don't lead: they skulk, assassinate, and do whatever it takes to get the job done. A precarious balance between personal honor and financial-gain is all that motivates them.

Well I think the whole lone warrior think, and honor, but I had the thought because he is as smart and more powerful, why not it seems to be the Decepticon way to strive for more power.
Also hes way to smart to be just a weapon, he is one of the smartest Cons and a great tactitioner, (if thats how you spell it).

He also probably doesn't want to deal with Starscream and half a dozen other Decepticons always trying to stab him in the back and trying to usurp him.

Tactician is how you spell it.

Also, why would he want to be the leader? Just because he has the ability to doesn't mean he has the desire to.

Sixshot's all about having the fun beating the crap out of people. He can't have that fun if he's in charge of people.

I could see SixShot as Decepticon leader. Megatron and Shockwave have both been leaders and they're weapons too. If you're gonna command an army of badass evil robots then who better to keep them all in line than a Decepticon that can go toe-to-toe with just about any opposing alt mode? Starscream certainly wouldn't be as ready to backchat a powerful Decepticon that can transform into an jet too and fly up and whup his ass.
Indeed. No Decepticon leader could ever be a friend of Daniel's. No self-respecting Autobot should be either.

Because he lacks the interpersonal skills the raw power to be the leader. Sure he's got skills, but not the right combination of them to be Decepticon leader without being killed or ousted right quick.
