    Supply and demand.

It's not available anymore and Hasbro hasn't delivered on a DOTM Leader Megatron yet so, people want a leader Megs that haven't gotten one yet. At least, that's my best guess. Either that or it's just a rare figure but, I really can't see that for this guy.

Also, this should be in the Toy section. =]

Yup and also maybe is because DOTM does not has a Leader class Megatron, that's why

Yea, really makes me wish I had bought about 20 of them when they were on clearance for $20. Didn't like the figure enough to get anything past the original version. It is crazy how some things take off in price. Good for those who bought this turd and want to unload it.

Y'know, it is kinda crazy that the original leader class is hitting that range as well.

I dunno I'm kinda a sucker for the black/red color scheme. I'd be selling mine, but I noticed one of the small plastic hinges that holds the knee guards in place must have snapped awhile back.

Probably just gonna super glue and hold onto him since I don't think I'll be able to get a replacement part for a reasonable price. Maybe I should check around in junkion.

Screw the Megatron, I'm more interested in the fact that a loose Jetfire can go for about $90. I'm literally sitting on a gold mine with that figure, I could make a lot of money if I ever chose to sell it.

It was a rare figure. I bought him about a year ago but the light/sounds didn't work (thought it was batteries but it wasn't), so I returned him and never saw another at retail.

Movie 1 leader Brawl is the same, they are going for an easy $100 plus shipping....I'd sell mine if I didn't love tank transformers so much.

This almost always happens to the "end of the line repaints"; everybody already has the original so they never bother to get the weird-ass repaint, so once the line is actually over there's not that many out there in "collector condition", so the few guys that actually had the forethought to snag these guys end up sitting on a gold mine.

You should also consider that this is a ebay price, and probably not what the collector market is willing to spend. I've noticed that if there just isn't another of that item listed on ebay that the price will be astonishingly high....even if it's a figure nobody really wants. I went through this with Movie 1 Cliffjumper, it wasn't in high demand but it was an end of the line repaint so it was hard to find because I passed on him at retail. I spent some time searching the Junkion and found one for like $5 or so, there just weren't a lot of them on ebay so the sellers thought they had gold...or maybe they do and I just got lucky.

    That's crazy!

It's a very cool repaint of a pretty decent Movie Leader Megatron.

I actually bought a loose one from the Junkion last week at $40 shipped, but I wouldn't pay more than that.

My guess is that prices will go down if and when we receive a DOTM Leader Megatron, but you never know!

It only goes to show you that there is an apparent demand for certain Movie toys, such as Leader Brawl from the first movie, Leader Megatron from ROTF and... dare I say... Supreme Devastator from ROTF.

Fuck, they had a shit load of those things at my local Walmart up until April of this year. Where the hell did they go? Seriously they had like ten of these damn things and then when the DOTM line hit they were all gone.

Most stores only got one shipment of this figure (if any at all) and was very briefly on the shevles. I think it was an improvement from the regular version in terms of paint.
