My only other option is the ROTF game which I love. But the view isn't over the shoulder like Gears.
Play the PS2 Armada game.
Its not a Gears of War clone. There is no direct cover system, so I think Mechafire's idea of playing the Armada Game is a good choice. To me personally it looks like it may play similar to ROTF, especially the running and gunning part so keep playing that game too as it may help
I don't think you have too much to worry about.
Even if your not familiar with the gameplay style i'm sure youl learn quick.
We're the gamer generation remember.
Ive been watching the gameplay trailer on youtube until my eyes bleed.
I agree with this. Although with the camera pov and the gritty look, it might be Gears Of War inspired, the lack of cover system means a whole different kind of gameplay style.
And it makes sense, too. A coversystem forces you to take shelter..something you don't want to be doing when playing with Transformers, I guess - they've always been attacking each other head on, with guns or melee weapons!
ive never played gears either but anytime i play a game with a cover system it ruins the experience. besides, no one ends up using a cover system in multiplayer anyway.
Well I will say going from Halo 3 to Gears of War(just got my 360 and am playing catch up) its a nice change. They won't have a cover system but still if its takes its inspiration from it, I am dead sold on it.
