Personally, I'm a bit disappointed by the WFC Soundwave figure.
The toy doesn't really match the game character & there's not much that can be done to fix that - but I've got a few ideas that might make him a little more accurate...

    1st Mod: the shoulders
In the game/promo & concept art, Soundwave has big, boxy shoulders:[IMG]

But the toy doesn't really carry the same weight:

So I tried to do something that might fix that.
This is actually really easy, all you do is dremel/carve (I used a small craft knife) a canal from the original point all the way down to the bottom of the rectangular notch:

    To produce this:

For me, this gives him a wider stance & just makes him look more imposing.

Hopefully, I'll get around to doing the other mods too someday...

Sweet! I also did a little trimming so now his leg wheels can rotate to face down all the way.

Just hit a snag... his shoulders are glued closed, so removing the screws does nothing. Anybody else have this problem? Kind of tricky to carve out that area with the shoulders still assembled.

Also, does doing this leave his arms looser than before? Because it seems like in carving the channel, you have to cut out one of the retraining nubs in the ball socket that holds the ball in.

You have to be careful when cutting the new groove - I made my groove almost smaller than the original one (use the groove for rotating the arms into alt mode for reference) to keep the joint as tight as possible; there is less difficulty now in popping the arms off & on the balljoint, but that's about it.

I wasn't able to split the arms either - did this mod with them still in one-piece (used the upper arm to stabilize the arm with my fingers as I shaved the groove).

Cool! Now all you need to do is show us a mod to fix his clown-shoes...

Yeah, the lighting sucks in my living room at night - easy on the eyes, bad on the camera.
I'll try to snap a few at lunch & upload them later...

Easy fix? Turn them around, fold the gray piece down and use the clown shoe as a heel instead. Looks way better and you really don't notice it.

Hmmm, I think it looks better and more accurate in the before. Now the tips of his shoulders jut out too much.

I think the original configuration actually DOES look more "accurate", technically speaking. But this looks much better.

Those narrow shoulders look pretty weak on Soundwave, especially combined with his short waist, skinny legs and big flat feet. The flared shoulders definitely balance his proportions more.

Thanks- I don't have the figure (I was put off by his clown shoes), but if I see him in a store, I'll think about this. Maybe closetrat will come up with something before then...
