As my comment there says, I'm confused over when exactly Nefarious takes place, given Ravage, if I read correctly, has some role in it, but Ravage is...

    Not a problem, apparently:

    http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/100/1006780p1.html

IGN Comics: How soon does this comic pick up after the events of the second movie?

Furman: It's pretty close. In the Ravage issue of Tales of the Fallen we kind of picked up from the fact that Ravage has his spine pulled out by Bumblebee in the movie. So we actually had to find a way to reboot Ravage. In many ways it was the spur fr this whole big conspiracy that's going on Earth itself, that they have their fingers in all sorts of alien Transformers tech. In a way it was to solve a problem to bring Ravage back. That's pretty much the spur of everything that happens in Nefarious.

Thats sound really stupid. Resurrection of Transformers, how pathetic. And what about chance, that Ravage will be in third movie? He died or lost in comics, same story like with Barricadea.

no no no no no no no... you can't make a comic book equivalent of a band aid for this movie... more character exploration my ass. a thimble has more depth, only thing they could explore more is how far pot brownie mom goes for the college boys.

I'll wait for the TPB and fan reviews, of course. Lame to bring Ravage back.

Yeah, I'm sure this series will be real good, but a the same time, this likely comes to us in part from a BIG guilt that ROTF should have concentrated more in character development.

Well, whatever as long as there is good art, and the constructicons (Rampage/Longhaul/Scrapper, etc.) it will be a major win either way. :thumb

Erm, when Furman started writing "Tales of the Fallen #6 - Ravage" they were using a script that did not have Ravage's death in it (just as the official comic adaptation of the movie). So you can guess he was surprised and had to change things a bit. Read it on his blog:

I love Ravage (his G1 Marvel incarnation anyway) and knowing Furman, he will portray him as a talking, intelligent master spy, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Btw am I the only one who gets a "Tales from the crypt" wibe from the "Tales of the Fallen" title? I imagine the Fallen reading us excerpts from a book whenever I hear that title...

Dude, some people in this thread evidently think reading is lame or too taxing, that's why they didn't read Furman's comment :p

I think it's highly likely Ravage's death was an entirely post-production thing Bay came up with (judging by the brutality of the deathblow).

Agreed... When I heard from the Botcon spoilers that BB kills Ravage and Rampage so brutally, that's when I lost even the last shreds of will to see this movie. (and THEN I heard about the Devasticles... imagine my state of mind).

Strange though that they included a totally throwaway character (Jolt) and did not off him in some background shot, the same they did with the Arcees. Bay works in mysterious (and explosive) ways.

Jolt was apparently a very last minute inclusion.

They could have still killed him off - that way the Cons would have been shown as an actual threat. I mean, apart from 3 Cons (Megs, SS, Soundwave) all of them die by the end of the movie, while the bots only lose (maybe) 2 Arcees? Not very threatening. (Even Devastator's wicked grinder-mouth did no damage to Mudflap?)
