I'm gonna feel like a tool for asking this, but my signature is a gif and someone told me it was over 40 kb, the maximum size of signatures. I wanted to go to the horse's mouth to see, instead of getting reprimanded later on. (I've already had it for three days, but I don't know if the mods just aren't noticing it or what.) I've also seen some people who aren't Supporters using gifs as avatars. What's going on with that?
Your sig is definitely over the limit. Signature limits are 500 pixels wide by 300 pixels high and must be below 40kb. Gifs are permissible as avatars so long as they fit within avatar rules.
