WOW! I am a huge armada sideways fan, I can't wait to see the finished product. Will he have interchangeable heads?

Im looking into the interchangeable heads... but I don't know which direction is the best way to go... either cartoon accurate heads or transformable heads, which will only be Mirror though.

Here's a look at the other heads, their progress is still the same. It's going to be a while till I finish.

just use the original minicons for the new heads but swap out their "faces" for something a lil more cartoon accurate.

I REALLY like this one; great job! It's better than the Armada Sideways toy, but I'd want to give you more props than that being that said toy wasn't stellar to begin with:thumb

    Great work :thumb

    Thanks everyone!
I always loved Sideways but his figure just does not justify him at all! So I thought Ani Prowl would work well for him.

About the head, I started by cutting out a pentagon(?) sheet of plastic card for the head, raised the middle of the head by using plastic card, making an underside down "V" side all the way down the head.

I then sculpted the head slowly and bit by bit. I always let each bit dry fully before moving on. I'm still new to sculpting but it is really important to let each part dry so you can't ruin anything by accident.

I sculpted the chin by adding a little bulk. After that I sculpted the top part of the yellow visor, once that dried fully sculpt the bottom part of it. Next I added the side parts of the visor. The mouth is done the same way again but kept on the centre part only. As the mouth dries slowly, carefully run a knife or something between the mouth and visor to get keep the gap between them. They are all simply putty rectangles or strips. Then add the sides of face on.

The sides or ears are just a plastic rod with wires curved and stuck to the back. I glued a plastic cylinder (the grey parts usually for joints) from Gundam kits to the bottom centre of the head, this allows you to attach the head on to Prowl's neck (after you sand the ball joint away, to make a rod. There might be a better way than this though). Then just thicken the head up.

Since the top part of the visor is higher than the forehead, add some putty there and sculpt the four lines in.

BTW I don't think I will finish him off soon, I have other commitments now, University, but I try find some time though. Sorry folks.

looks cool. Makes me think that the headmaster got his headmaster unit on his own robot.
