Not much going on here. I did the foot mod, and a little body work to cover the gap (I'm really pround of my putty work.). Right now his robot parts are just base coated in Stainless Steel, and the vehicle parts are Tamiya Chrome Silver. I'm considering adding either a blue or red racing stripe down the center. If anyone can digibash I'd like to see how they would look.

You should be REALLY proud of that putty work - you can't even tell there ever was a seam in these pics -- great job!! :thumb

    Update...

Just a couple of things. I had to pick up Swerve after accidently breaking of the tail pipes. The arm is finished, but the blue on the side is a test. Your thoughts on the blue???

keep the blue on the bot bits, maybe as panel lining. :)

I think some wet-sanding on your paint apps would shoot your great work out of the universe, man [the paint apps look just a little on the textured side, as opposed to looking slick]. A coat of Future would seal it off.

Putty work? I don't know what any of you are talking about. There's none that I can see. (Great work, man :thumb )

Was thinking about sanding it. The silver doesn't really show much texture, but once you put the clear colors on it, the brush strokes show up. What grit paper would you recommend?

Thanks for the positive feed back on the putty work. I super glued the foot pieces to the hood, then used Milliput to fill in the gap. I did my best to work with it wet, but ended up sanding a lot of it down.

    New update.

Accidently broke the putty work on the left fender while trying to put the headlights backs in. Good thing I've got Swerve in the parts bin!

    Thoughts??

Well, as with all my customs now, I base coated with Krylon Camoflauge Ultra-Flat black, then I coated him with POLLY Scale Model Railroad Paint Stainless Steel. The black is POLLY Scale Engine Black. (The Stainless Steel dries EXTREMELY smooth. Other paints barely stick to it, so be careful.) The blue is Tamiya Metallic Blue which was dry brushed over with Tamiya Chrome Silver. The other accents are Tamiya Dark Copper. Also, everything was brushed on except the base coat of Krylon. Hope that helps.

These are the paints I used.

Got to looking at the head, then at my X-Acto knife. Back to the head, the knife, head, knife, pic of HA Sideswipe. Then this happened. Thoughts?

That toe piece will break off pretty easily. Just be careful not to break off too much. You can use the X-Acto knife to score a line where it will break. Then I glued the toe piece to the hood, and used apoxy putty to fill in the gap.
