One would think he's a Scout, being a small, agile car. However, whenever his class is listed on promotional material, he's listed as a soldier: Hi-Res War For Cybertron Sideswipe, Thundercracker, Jetfire Images Transformers This could easily be chalked up to a misprint...but one of his skills on the official website is listed as "Whirlwind." That's a combat skill that developers have said belongs to the soldier class.
From the original bio, I always took Sideswipe to be more of a fighter, even a brawler. Maybe High Noon are going by that version?
I figured the car alt modes were designated to scouts, much like tanks = soldiers, trucks = leaders and planes = scientists.
Well, according to the same materials, SKywarp is a Scout, Ratchet should be a Scientist, and Ironhide's a Soldier, so it's probably character-specific for them.
in single player the characters are a combination of all the classes. for example, air raid has the whirlwind attack like a soldier and cloak and energon battle pistol like a scout,
Yep. Sideswipe is a soldier in single player, but that chassis is a scout in multiplayer. Makes sense to me.
Ironhide's chassis is also a Leader class for multiplayer, so Sideswipe switching classes shouldnt be a surprise.
So their play characteristics will change in the modes? I guess that will keep you from doing things the same way you do in single player?
In story more he’s most likely a soldier, but in multiplayer mode his chassis is a scout. Ratchet is a scientist in story mode, but a leader in multiplayer. Don’t be too surprised when you play story mode and see characters with somewhat strange abilities.
I really wish you could choose your vehicle mode and then choose your class. Like be a jet and a leader and your class effect your abilities and your alt mode your weapons/armor.
I think its the other way around. I'm not really a fan of the multiplayer mode because of the ridiculous class restrictions, just to balance a multiplayer mode. don't be disappointed if u can't really play as the characters, cos it looks like you will only be able to play as created characters in this mode and they may not match up to wat u think the character should be. the story looks likes its more about the transformers characters, while multiplayer is just to run around and blow things up. personally i hope in a sequel they focus more on unique abilities and weapons and more characters. multiplayer looks good enough.
