How fast is Sideswipe in Robot Mode? In Car Mode?

Seems like he was faster in Robot mode than Car mode

Decepticon Sideways was going full speed to get away from the Autobots. Looked like Nobody was near him. They said bring in Sideswipe and Sideswipe transformed and rolled the corners and etc at super high speed in robot mode and caught and killed Sideways from away in his Robot Mode.

It was more of the fact that Sideways was a fool, going through alleys in alternate form, slowing him down. It's not the fact that Sideswipe is faster in robot mode, Sideways was slower in car form. Sideswipe only did what was logical: Transform to maneuver better and skillfully through the alleyway.

It could be that rather than being faster in general, he's just so much more manouverable on two wheels than on four that it had the overall effect of making him faster under the circumstances.

Or, given that his 'bot mode is on wheels rather on than feet, he can still use them as effectively as if he were still in alt mode.

Yeah Sideswipe was MUCH more manuverable in bot mode, speed wasn't really a factor.

Sideways must have been going over 100 miles per hour in his Audi. I think the scene was cool and nice how Sideswipe caught up but it is not reality however. A robot in robot form cannot go over 100 miles per hour, just not possible.

Like someone said before BayPhysics. Bay does what he wants in his movies

Sideways was not going THAT fast. To go 100 mph in back alleys is suicide.

Yes this is Michael Bay's fault!

It couldn't possibly be that Sideswipe was using the momentum from his vehicle mode to get close to Sideways and convert to robot, carrying across the speed (seeing as he has wheels and all).

Nup, this is definately one of those Bay things.

A fictional character can do whatever the creators want it to. Go back and read G1 Tech specs if you want more impossible character skills :D

I agree not possible. How Sideswipe was portrayed was really cool regardless. Nice scene. It showed somewhat how agile and Flexible Sideswipe is.

However after that scene Sideswipe disappeared into some random scenes.

    Yup your right it is.

The amount of Drag the robot design would have would not be able to catch up to something the shape of a bullet. ( A car)

but hey dont let facts get in the way of your comments. Him transforming into a robot would create instant drag like a sale and hence could not physically catch up to sideways unless he was shot out of a VERY VERY large gun

I very much doubt either car was going at max speed. The tight alleyways would've made that impossible. Even if controlled by a machine, the maneuverability would be restricted by the cars' turning circle.

In robot mode, Sideswipe combines the agility of a biped skater with the momentum of a high-speed concept Stingray. It is this combination that enables him to catch up to Sideways. He is able to turn on a dime and jump over obstacles. Sideways must drive around them.

If I was running for my life, I would not be going 35 miles per hour trying to get away, would you? It is clearly shown Sideways was trying to get away at full speed, Even at 50 miles per hour there is no way a robot in robot form can catch a car. Ever heard if wind drift and drag. There is no way.
