know what would make Sideswipe much cooler? 2 things! 1) a cherry-red paint job....booyah instant double coolness! 2) an identical double, in yellow...named Sunstreaker!!!booyah double the awesomeness. THE REAL TWINS!!! when i heard there were going to be twins, i thought it was going to be Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. .but too my disappointment ..just some idiotbots it would have been a stroke of genius for the toy sale too. a perfect reason/excuse to buy a repaint!!!
slap your face all you want..it is not about g1 or anything. it is about the essence of Sideswipe, in whatever car (or manta ray if your want) ..come on we already had a weak silver car, Jazz (who is still dead by the way). it was horrible. give me a break, another 'silver' car. it mind as well be Silverstreak...it wouldn't have mattered any. i am not talking about repaint toy. i am talking about the movie. on a side note: i am curious as to why there are so many so full of it, when EVERYBODY knows that G1 is and will always be the fundamental progenitor of all transformersverse.
red, not a trait..oh really. See how you would have wept if Bay had made optimus a silver and black truck (cool but it wouldn't have been him). and needless to say the 'yellow' of bumblebee. i am not saying colors are always important. it is just that certain things/characters register more iconically with certain colors. look, a red bumblebee just as well be cliffjumper. would you take it seriously if bumblebee as a character was red? the constructicons for instance, does not need to be greenish-yellow (or whatever that sickly phosphorescent tone was in G1) to be constructicons.
I see what you mean. But for the movie, I think most of the designs were given names based on what they did or looked like. Some were given special respect to the originals, like Bumblebee and Prime, while others were named based on their personalities, such as Ratchet and Ironhide. Sideswipe is only named Sideswipe because he is a sleek silver robot with swords that looks like he would be the kind to swipe others from the side. If it makes you feel any better, than he is S.I.N.O. (Sideswipe In Name Only).
Jazz wasn't weak, he was actually handling business. And when he (embarassingly) dies, he was protecting the people still there when Megatron showed up. I really don't understand this hate for Jazz?
But see, with a name like Bumblebee there's a color connection to be made. Bumblebee = yellow and black Sideswipe ≠ red
yes agreed...i am not say it is red or nothing. the point i wanted to make was that certain bots are more iconic with certain forms, certain colors, or certain attitudes, etc..i am sure sideswipe will be cool in TF2..all i am saying is that he would be COOLER in red! that is all...but i digress. Jazz...hmmm... What a silly little bot. Analysis: Uncool..you know that is why I think he was killed off...for not being cool. but that should be on another thread.
