Sideshow has posted a new behind the scenes video of their upcoming Optimus Prime statue. I don't know if this is to scale in the video of what the actual product will be, but wow...huge. This is going to be awesomely expensive. Can't wait to blow my money on it. Enjoy!

Must be a populer video, taking forever to load.

Edit: Worth the wait. A thing of beauty & art, looking forward to the finished version and yes I agree it will be awesomely expensive.

Impressive stuff. I found the fact that they managed to reduce 30,000 individual model parts to 7,000 particularly impressive, considering that the model still looks incredibly movie-accurate.

Looks awesome! Thanks for the link :)
It's bound to be insanely expensive though, so likely won't be picking it up.

As a ballpark figure, the last Sideshow statue I bought was a little short of $300, and it was about half that size.

Maquette's are far from cheap, esp. something the size of this. The upcoming Iron man maquette will be around $500 and the Avatar AMP suit maquette is $1,100. I wouldn't be surprised if this was over the $800 mark

Amazing! Hope they have this at Comicon. I want to see it in person.

Pricewise, I got the cave troll from Lord Of The Rings from Sideshow that was HUGE and orginally listed for 300 bucks. I doubt this will cost more than 1000 bucks. Probably 500ish.

This is freaking sweet! If the model they show is to scale, it looks to be 12"-16". I'm not sure what they've announced for the height of this, but it's huge.

I can also now appreciate the pose of the model now that they've explained their reasoning behind it. I'm not a complete fan of the pose, but it looks like this thing is still going to rock some socks off.

I'd have to agree with the $500-$1000 price point. I hope it'll be well worth whatever price they choose.

    Any ETA on this guy?

I'm never gonna own this. :(

I want one... I want one so bad... I've critiqued some of Sideshow's work in the past, but this is just looking to be spectacular.

The level of work and craftsmanship they put into it is both very impressive and a little depressing, given how the movie designs are so popularly despised by people...It all kind of seems like a waste.

But don't mind me...I'm just being a bitter betty today.
