Since Bay was supposed to film this week, what are they going to do now?

Use footage of the shuttle liftoff from Armageddon

Knowing bay he probably already has the okay from NASA to come back and shoot it when it does launch.

I hope they can work it out.

It'll mean a lot to see the final space shuttle launch captured in 3D become part of this movie.

Surely can't they, I don't know, be flexible with their schedule and work on something else in the meantime? These things happen, you build redundancies and alternatives into any good plan to work around this sort of thing. I'm sure they'll just jiggle things around a bit to work on something else and do the shuttle launch later. After all, in securing agreement to film the shuttle, they'd have been warned of the possibility of a delay ahead of time and worked out a way to cope if such a thing happened.

I know, I am just worried because NASA was so excited to have them there, and it's going to take a lot of time and more contracts to try again on the 30th.

I am trying to be serious. :(  3D shuttle launch? That's fucking cool, no matter what. It would have been a great send off.

If it's a scene to make the film sequence come together better I'm sure he'll wait till Nov. 30th. Plus, it's one of the LAST launches...ever... AND it's Bay. Cumon, he doesn't take NO for an answer

As I understood, it is the final launch. This is it.

If they don't get to film it this time, there's never going to be a second chance. I say go Imax 3D ... and lets immortalise this sucker for all time.

It is the FINAL launch for Discovery. Endeavour and Atlantis each still have a mission left for 2011.

Take your time NASA, get that bird healthy!!!!
