What is Arrested Development and why do people love it so much?

I could list many if I think about it but I just want to get one off my chest right now; and I am so happy I'm not alone on this after reading just the first page.

    Seinfeld.
I've tried and I've tried and I've tried to figure out how people can find this show entertaining. There are so many bad shows with huge fanbases (read: Family Guy) that, at least when I watch them...I get it. I can understand why it's liked. I can't figure it out with Seinfeld. I swear nothing about this show approaches 'entertainment'.

South Park, Jersey Shore (It' not even in New Jersey anymore) and while I don't necessarily hate this show, I've never seen the New Thundercats.

That show doesn't count as "loved". A lot of people hate it.

What's the deal with me forgetting to include Seinfeld on my list? I mean, I tried watching multiple episodes of it, didn't find anything about it the least bit funny and spent every episode hoping Kramer would be eaten by wolves...yet I forgot to put it on my list? What's up with that?

A sitcom that aired on Fox for three seasons from 2003 - 2006. It was beloved by critics, and seemingly the collective population of the internet, for reasons I don't understand even after watching several episodes. It was nominated for a number of awards and won several, including a few Emmys, but it didn't do very well in the ratings and was cancelled.

    Battlestar Galactica (remake)

I can respect what they were trying to do, I really can, but every single character in this fucking mess was just so unlikable in everyway I could think of. Plus I had some personal peeves about the writers but they're irrelevant.

You know what the worse thing is, the old series has the reputation of camp, not undeserved, but I watched the 'movie' which I think is like the first five episodes strung together. And the angle of dispair is there, and so is the desperation of survival but its tempered with a genuine hero in Apollo and a lovable rogue in Starbuck (long live Dirk Benedict!) and the firm but grandfatherly Adama. It was good, and had it been pitched at that level consistantly it would be more fondly remembered.

I liked new BSG right up until the ending, which was a huge let-down IMO. After that I re-evaluated the whole series and found that the characters are a fairly loathsome bunch, so I have to agree with you on that one. :(

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I hated every character and all of the plot twists felt like they were just pulled out of a hat. The dark tone didn't sit well with me. I'm ok with a darker tone, but there was no sense of fun or adventure in it to add depth to the characters and lighten the mood.

Agreed, BSG was okay for the 1st season, then went to crap after that.
    I would add
How I met your Mother..who cares?
2.5 Men..this last season, also who cares?

Any and all so called Reality TV..all of them.
