Every year there is new shows....some last, some dont....i usually can tell with in 10 mins when a show will be cancelled. ( 2 men and half men will be cancelled after this season, that show is horrible) I got to thinking what shows were cancelled the fastest....i found these....its amazing a show was cancelled halfway through the first espisode.....and there was a garbage pail kids cartoon! 9 of the Fastest Cancellations in Television History | Movieline
I see that The Playboy Club is the first casualty of this fall season's new shows.I could see that one getting axed right away.
Im thinking Terra Nova is next...its cool but its more of a Late Saturday night show, then a Monday night show....
That's one thing I've noticed these days. TV shows are the equivalent of a baby being born, and expecting to be able to grasp walking, talking, and basic math and reading skills within hours of being introduced into the world. I wish some executives would think back to a time, when some shows were not instant hits. Remember shows like Cheers, or Seinfeld? Cheers springs readily to mind- it was supposedly very well-liked, but the ratings were terrible. However, NBC stood behind it and gave it a chance. And look where that low-rated show ended up: running for 11 seasons, and winning 26 Emmys and 6 Golden Globes. Man, they should have fired that NBC person who said 'yes' when they had the chance.
I think the difference between now and then....is patience nobody has it anymore....also I think lots of money is involve....but I really it depends what time and day the shows come on....in the 80s for me, it was Monday with McGyver, Tuesday Growing Pains. Thursdays nights was the best night, all the favorites were on...
What gets me is how it's lasted this long. 8 seasons! It's never been funny and is quite possibly one of the worst shows I've ever seen. I don't understand why it gets such good ratings.
Because people are stupid and don't know what real comedy is. Yeah, I'm thinking Terra Nova is going to get the axe. But, that's more to do with Fox's history of hyping up sci-fi and high concept shows, and then killing them off after one or two seasons. The same thing happened to Firefly and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles; so I wouldn't be surprised if it happened to Terra Nova.
The Playboy club just got cancelled I believe. That was at most 2 episodes? Maybe just the one. Also the Paul Riser show got cancelled after 2 shows as well.
In all honesty I think that, last man standing will get axed next, I don't think tim allen will have the same success that he had with home improvement. (Could be wrong though)
Terra Nova The new Girl Pan Am Charlies Angels Will all most likely be dead by the end of the seasons.
