the title says all and yes i made thread early
Why does everyone call it "X-mas"?
it's a bit more of a 'politically correct' version of Christmas because it takes out the Christ part. It's just a way that people try to remove the religious aspects of it and still reference the holiday
My Christmas Haul...
I bought these for myself just days ago, I also just opened the Starwars Han and Chewi Falcon from years ago...lol
The X is meant to resemble the cross. I thought that was common knowledge. A "T" wouldn't suffice simply because it doesn't have the extra bit of wood jutting from the top, whereas the "X" has all 4 prongs.
You have got to be kidding me.
OK, this is a bit more reasonable.
Anyway, I hate to get all Wikipedia up in this bitch but check out some TRUTH YO.
Christmas is certainly no time for trivialities like facts.
Professor Llamatron! And now we know...
For Xmas this year everyone is getting FACTS! It's the gift that keeps on giving.
I haven't received my "haul" yet but I know it will consist of a hair shaver and that's pretty much it.
Which in itself is not politicaly correct as there is no religious freedom if people are not allowed to express their beliefs in whatever way they want. Substituting "Christ" in Christmass with whatever other letter or word is wrong and hypocritical.
The holiday's name is "Christmass" not "Crossmass". And it is about the celebration of Christ's birth not crucifiction, so "cross" or X is inappropriate.
It may not be written in the book of Wikipedia, but I have heard that explanation (or very close to it) many times.
Oh, and my haul so far is Encore 19.
Oh, for X's sake.
Got this already from the 'wife'...
When I think of the cross, I only think of the guy - not of his death. I find that's what most people think as well.
All I got so far is this from Auto, as well as a pair of Batman PJ pants.
Can't wait for tomorrow!
Beat me to it.
I got DJ Hero and a pair of wicked kicks!
