    Hey guys.
I've never collected any Beast Era toys in my life, but I am starting to feel like getting the characters from the animated show in toy form. Funny, I used to be heavily against that, thinking the toys were cheap and silly-looking. I guess you do change your ideas when you get older? :)

Anyway, I could use some advice. Which are the best/nicest/most show-accurate figures of the cast members of the Beast Wars TV series? Which should I make a special effort to look for?

You could start with Henkei Dinobot. I don't think there's any other toy of him that's more accurate.

I suggest reading the Beast Wars Appreciation Thread 2011. We've discussed the most show-accurate versions of the Beast Wars cast many times. Opinions vary, but it'll help you narrow it down to the top contenders.

I'm a big Beast Wars collector, and off the top of my head, the toys I enjoy the most are Japanese Terrorsaur (all red and silver, no purple), Transmetal Rattrap, Robot Masters Primal, Henkei Dinobot, 10th Anniversary Megatron, Telemocha Rhinox, Inferno, Japanese/Telemocha Tigatron, Tigerhawk, Transmetal Tarantulas, and of course X-9 Metals Ravage.

I would say most of the Season 3 characters had very show accurate toys, as well as Silverbolt and Quickstrike. To me, this means Tigerhawk, Optimal Optimus, Megatron 2 and 3, Dinobot and Rampage/Depth Charge

My intention was the same as yours when putting my Beast Wars collection together. I only have those characters that appeared in the show and I went for the most screen accurate version of each one, in my opinion.

    I have:

Telemocha TM-01 Optimus Primal (the redeco of the Robot Master mold)
    Telemocha TM-SP DX Megatron
    Telemocha Cheetor
    Telemocha Rhinox
    Telemocha Balckarachnia
    Telemocha Waspinator
    Takara Tigatron
    Hasbro 10th Anniversary Tarantulas
    Hasbro Video Exclusive Airazor
    Hasbro Rattrap
    Takara Inferno
    Takara Scorponok
Hasbro Silverbolt (I actually would prefer the Takara Metals version...)
    Takara Metals Transmetal Rattrap
    Hasbro Transmetal Cheetor
    Takara Metals Transmetal Megatron
    Takara Metals Transmetal Optimus Primal
    Takara Metals Quickstrike
    Takara X-9 Jaguar (Ravage)
    Takara Metals Transmetal Tarantulas
    Takara Metals Rampage
    Henkei Dinobot
    Hasbro 10th Anniversary build-a-figure Transmutate
    Hasbro Transmetal 2 Cheetor
    Hasbro Transmetal 2 Megatron
    Hasbro Depth Charge
    Hasbro Tigerhawk
    Hasbro Optimal Optimus
Hasbro Transmetal 2 Dinobot (I have both the cream and white versions)
    Hasbro Transmetal 2 Blackarachnia
    Henkei Ghost Starscream (KO)
    Unicron.com Golden Disks set

...I just need Takara Terrorsaur to complete the set but I can't find him anywhere!!! :redface2:

I think that the later seasons, including the transmetal figures generally had more accurate figures, as for me, my favorite beast era figure is henkei dinobot, that guy just oozes awesomeness :)

As much as I do not like Beast Figures, I do dig the 10th Anniversary Primal/Megatron 2 pack. (The Voyager Class Ones) The United ones are not remotely close to show accurate

Sorry I should have been more clear   - Takara produced two different decos of Terrorsaur, one had the same paint job as the Hasbro release with the green spots and and red beak, and another one with show accurate colours of yellow beak, no green spots and silver robot parts. Besides, I don't really think I can bring myself to pay 100+ for a basic!

Season 2 and 3 were pretty simple: Just get the figures. Season 1 is a LOT more complicated.

    Maximals:
Telemocha Optimus Primal (Robot Masters Mold)
Telemocha Cheetor (but most versions of the original mold are enough)
    Takara Rattrap
    Henkei Dinobot
    Any version of Tigatron
    US Airrazor

    Predicons:
    Telemocha Megatron (RM Redeco)

... eh, this is taking too long and I'm bored.

Long story short, Robot Master Primal and Megs, and the latest release (American or Japanese really) for new decos on older figures.

    Oh, and avoid Universe Cheetor.

Most of them are show accurate, you are best off asking which aren't.

    Some that stand out are:
    Airrazor, way too small
    Terrorsaur, way too small
    Rhinox, too small
Dinobot for many reasons, especially the head
Black Arachnia for being a Tranatulas repaint and having no feminine qualities.

Other than that I think the rest are very show accurate, especially when you consider how old these figures are.

IMO Rhinox and Blackarachnia (any versions of them) are the worst victims of being non-show accurate. At least we have Henkei Dinobot, who I think is a great figure.

    It's a non-transforming custom.
