Great find Captain N. For those who missed out on the Matrix set.

Does anyone have any idea at all how much this will cost? A rough estimate?

That is absolutly not true. 2D animation shows remarkable improvement in HD.... just look at TFTM, GI Joe:Movie, any of the Disney animated films, or the DC direct to video releases..... all stunning in picture quality. It's literally like looking at the actual hand painted cels and backgrounds... blown up on your tv. It's exactly the same with CGI or Traditional animation... the quality is unquestionable major leap over DVD.

I never got the Rhino sets either. If the price for this is decent, I'll probably get it.

Not regretting picking up the regular shout factory sets. Really nice box art and it fits into my shelf space better.

Eh. Still don't have blue ray for the HDTV. But it seems like a good idea just because blu ray discs don't scratch as easily.

Sorry Shout Factory I want to support your projects. But a lot of us already picked your previous versions up.

A good idea, but I've already gotten season 1 on DVD. Can't get a boxed set now, not unless I sell the season 1 DVD and get this instead. :(

    Blu-Ray or Nothing

I'm another one who is waiting for the inevitable blu-ray release. For me it's not about the quality as much as the quantity. I don't want a set with 15 discs, it's too much. Put it on all on Blu and shrink it down to half that, then I will buy.

I think I may still hunt down a Matrix of Leadership set because I always wanted to see that bonus content.

I have the Madman 17 disk tin set, but I can only play it on my computer and unlocked Philips DVD player which is kind of a pain. Plus I'd like to see how Shout! did with animation fixes I've heard about.

Do you own anything legit? I'd hate to be your significant other...I'd want to see receipts for every gift you gave me in fear the shoes, handbag or jewelry would be fake.

Right now Shout has a bundle of the 4 seasons for $50 on their website. If people want the separate releases.

Yes, for transformers, I have all the encores. I do like ko bargins from time to time. As far as dvds. They are pretty much exactly the same quality, except for the boxes. I only watch dvds, I dont collect dvds. I do have lots of original 80s dvds, but they are missing chapters since hasbro loves making 5 sets to complete a series. I have some of the rhino sets, but to buy all of them it would be much more than getting a complete ko collection. Thats one of the reasons for me to go for a ko set, to get all of the entire seasons all in one simple set.

I already sold all of my DVDs almost 2 years ago, no reason to buy anymore. Add me to the BD wagon please.

Allow me to supply a bit of information with regards to a Blu-Ray version that would be be much superior to that of the DVD... In the respective situation, true HD is only possible when the original film (which is analog) is transfered to the digital realm by scanning at a resolution of 1080p (higher resolutions are possible, but that is best left out of this discussion)...

It is usually the older movies (when transferred correctly) that show the most spectacular difference when compared to that of the DVD... I would reccomend using 'The Good the Bad & the Ugly' as a means of comparison...

Not sure who you're referring to since I started this thread, but you're welcome.

I haven't seen ONE single 2D animation that looks worth the trouble on Blu-Ray.

Same here. I think I'm just gonna get the rest of the series as the individual sets rather than waiting for the box set to release.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Surprising that it's that high -- twice the amount of their season bundle set. But Amazon's price is $70, which was my guess on the retail price. That price seems more reasonable (and affordable) for consumers.
