k, im getting confused, what is this exactly?

Didn't some company just release season 1 of G1 on DVD?

And aren't some company (could be the same, could be different I have no idea) releasing the entire series very soon?

What is this thing with only 3 episodes?

Saw it this past weekend at Target along with a GI Joe DVD with the first 5 or so episodes on it. Didn't know it would've been news.....dang! Anyhow, I don't see the point. Like it was said earlier, for a few more bucks, you can get the whole season.

This is more common knowledge than news at this point I'd say, as I've seen this thing personally floating around stores for the last 3 or so weeks, and I'm always the last to know stuff.

This is meant for kids, not collectors. Parents are more willing to spend $13 on a DVD than one over $20. So the kids want a Transformers DVD & they see this. Its the right price so parents might pick it up. If the $20 one was there, they might pass. Parents happy at price, kids are happy with their cartoon. Shout Factory gets some $$ when they might not have recieved any. Everyone wins.

I've seen this DVD at TRU in a little basket next to the TF toys.

If so, this is a good way to introduce kids to the original Transformers series.
