I sure hope they don't hate it because the are releasing the Gi Joe Dic episodes soon and if they hated TF season 3 you would think they would like the Dic episodes worse.. 

 

To tell ya the truth, I had no problem with him coming back in 'Dark Awakening', mainly because he was brought back against his will and chose to sacrifice himself to protect the Autobots. It was a great premise and a great episode.

Bringing him back a second time however, was just lazy and annoying as it shafted Rodimus, right after his development in 'The Burden Hardest to Bear'.

 

Me neither, because I didn't really consider him as having come back in that, although if not, only by technicality.

One of the things I really like about shows like G1 is that most of the "ordering" of the episodes aren't "required" to really enjoy the show. This was especially true when it originally aired, as anyone could jump in and not feel totally lost.

That's not to say that I find myself unable to enjoy epic sagas either.

 

This is a little off topic, but are the special features pretty good on this? I'm a big special features guy and I always look forward to watching them

 

You should check out the Rhino version then. It has the special feature of the episodes not looking like shit, which is always a favorite feature of mine.

 

Yeah, they revived Optimus again after his death in The Headmasters! Though it took approximately about a century to do it when they got to Battlestars...

 

...and turned him into the most lazily-designed baseFormer of all-time.  

 

His character model was no big deal to me.

It's just.... The damn toy's legs don't have knees! I'm glad I never bought it. But damn, even Metroplex has separate legs and can transform into a base! Even Fortress Maximus, Trypticon, and Overlord can transform into bases! God Ginrai and Victory Saber too! But Dai Atlas and Star Convoy... Just take the cake...

It's almost impossible to kitbash him!

 

The character model is actually kind of cool, imo. Truck mode is okay. And an extra Rodimus figure is always welcome.

But that base mode...

You know, in a way, it almost reminds me of the new RescueBots fire station playset with the big Optimus face in the middle.

i just transform it from truck to robot mode and ignore the basemode all together.

 

I was thinking about saving up for this set, and I would also like to know this.

 

The discs are exactly the same thing between the individuals and box sets.

 

So did the designers.

Not exactly the same thing, but kind of related... has anyone else had this problem with their Shout Factory Headmasters set?

From about the middle of the second disc, all the way through to the end of the series, the opening credit sequence is messed up on every episode. There's a weird strobe effect on some of the animation. None of the episodes themselves are messed up, but it's still annoying.

And for anyone with the Japanese Trilogy set, does that have the same problem?

 

Can't say I have because I have not watched Headmasters yet. I decided to spend this week watching GI Joe.

 

I kind of need to know this, too. I have the Shout! version of season 1 on DVD, but I was planning on selling that and getting this instead.

 

It happened on my madman version so id say its problem with the source
