I was searching the inter-web not too long ago and I found out that Canada's rating for Transformers Prime is TV-PG, while here in the US of A we got the ol' TV-Y7FV rating. Considering how dark tone can be at times for 7 year olds (most notably Raf nearly getting killed in one episode), do you think the Hub will decide to rerate it as TV-PG?

I wouldn't be suprised if they did. At the moment I don't parents are that concerned about it until if the children get REALLY freaked out. So far I think both children and parents are oaky with it.

I personally don't care. I'll watch it anyway.

If they bring in Kup voiced by Lee Eremy, this show won't be TV-PG. :lol

Kup: "OPTIMUS PRIME! You pathetic sack of s**t! I've seen better troops in my f**king toilet bowl!"
Optimus: "Nice to see you again too, Kup."

What we see on TFP hardly passes for 'dark'. Kids today tolerate far worse without any problems.

    This must happen.

The "V" in the rating tells parents that the show will depict violent actions, so they can choose to let their kids view the series or not....violence is in almost EVERY kids cartoon.. whether it's just stupid punching or kicking to actual fights.. so it's not a biggie and doubt that there will be a ratings change.
Plus I think the ratings gurus view the violence differently if it's robots and not humans...in TFP humans have been in danger and hurt, but not beat up by a con or killed....to date. Even Fowler has reported humans injured at the base that was attacked, but never mentioned they died..same for the MECH characters...they had wild wrecks but didn't SAY that anyone died...the exception would have to be the helicopter that Breakdown blew up...somebody died in that one...unless they parachuted out first. Hahaha.

Maybe, maybe not. With all the crap they're able to get past the radar, I wouldn't be too surprised if they did. Not that I would care; I'd still watch the show.

Transformers Prime is perfectly fine to show my five year old daughter. Therefore the rating is actually too high, and not too low.

    ...in my own opinion.

I'm surprised that the show is rated TV-Y7 FV because the Autobots actually kill Decepticons in this show and the Decepticons have also killed a few Autobots as well. Raf almost died as well. I realize that it's mostly robot violence, but the violene in Clone Wars is also against droids mostly. Young Justice is also rated TV-PG and I don't think its content is much worse than Prime.

No. The show is too soft. No deaths. Nothing. Everyone survives. Who cares if someone is 7. This show isn't dark. Cliffjumper was an exception but everything after that has been kiddy

It's fine. Nobody cares about violence if it's not humans/blood is involved.

The Insecticons, Makeshift,Skyquake, and some of the MECH troopers would like to have a word with you on that.

Compaired to most shows today it's pretty mature.

That and the writers were indeed thinking of killing off Raf but didn't go with it but what's to say that it may not occuer later on?

Maybe so but have you seen Star Wars the Clone Wars? The second half of season 3 and season 4 have been really dark for a show on Cartoon Network. Which TF Prime is also now on. People get killed all the time. Beheaded scene once. Anyway killing a human character off would be amazing. Never done in Transformers or in most kids shows.

All I'm saying that there has been indeed deaths in Prime that the characters NEVER came back to life including Cliffjumper. I know it's your opinon but to have characters die onscreen and never come back to life is pretty dark. Besides Prime's just begun it's second season so give it time for it to really bring more dark content. Star Wars the Clone Wars has been going on for 4 years now so Prime still has some catching up to do.

There also has been human deaths in Prime mainly with the MECH troopers if you saw thier episodes you know what I'm talking about. We may see Silas dying in the future.

Why must you keep comparing Transformers Prime with Star Wars. They are two COMPLETELY different franchises.

    Don't forget;

    (Bulkhead breaks something)
Kup: What is your major malfunction, numbnuts?!

(Episode where Kup makes the Bots climb the cliff side of the base)
    Bulkhead: I-I can't make it!
Kup: GET THE F**K OF MY OBSTACLE!

Oh, Eremy Kup can bring many, many, many funny things.
