should Transformers 3 be listed as a comedy movie?

Some work, and some don't but regardless there is a ton of jokes and intended to be funny lines in the movie.

After Sam kills Starscream you hear him say like "well hes dead". And i remember people laughing at that part.

People were laughing at Brains everything he said.

No. Revenge of the Fallen, on the other hand? Live-action Robot Chicken with Transformers.

There were jokes, but that doesn't make it a comedy film.

Well, people who hate the movies deem its quality to be laughable. Haha, bad joke is bad. But no, it is not a comedy if a few jokes are thrown around.

This thread reminds me of Empire's review of the first movie. Some reviewer said think of it as a comedy for best results. They shouldn't be a critic.

Die Hard had humor in it.

Does that make Die Hard a comedy movie?

A movie isn't labeled a comedy just because there's a few jokes in it or the standard action movie one liners. It is called comic relief and is usually present just to lighten the mood a little and bring the story down to Earth a little more.
A little off topic here, but I had an experience that was the exact opposite of this thread. My English class was using The Hangover as an example of the structure of plot. Do you really expect English classes to tell you that the movie where a guy drugs all of his friends who also steal Mike Tyson's tiger has actually taught you something.

Well, considering that people still don't accept Full Metal Jacket as being a comedy because it wasn't made to look like a live action Family Guy episode, I don't know how far we'd get with well... this.

Actually, I think they should just rename ROTF as "Transformers Movie."

Brains character was meant to be funny. Notice how he doesn't actually show up for most of the movie, along with Wheelie. I think it's also implied that both of them DIE when the ship crashes. Not so funny.

I swear, Overlord Balder, every single one of your posts is like gold-plated epicness for the human soul.

Yeah, coupled with the fact the ex-leader of the Autobots killed another Autobot (and in various novelizations he killed the Twins, also) plus is about to fuck over humanity AND the Autobots by bringing Cybertron down on Earth, the level of mass destruction that happens in Chicago, humans getting VAPORIZED on screen, the sense of an utter lack of hope because the Autobots are apparently dead and the Decepticons have won, and the general uselessness of the few humans who infiltrate the city before the actual spec ops teams can come in and blow up the bad guys, that's TOTALLY material for comedy.

Depends. Are we talking the original version of the 30 second reenactment with Bunnies?
Die Hard in 30 seconds with bunnies.

If DOTM is a comedy, then John Carpenter's THE THING is fuckin' hilarious.

Seriously, there are a couple of lines in THE THING that make me laugh every time I watch it (especially "...but I will not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!!!"), but the movie is light years away from being a comedy (unless you are one demented sumbitch).

Same goes for DOTM. Yeah, it gets more laughs from me than THE THING, but then again, DOTM doesn't scare me subconsciously.

Humour is now a vital part of any movie. Even the most serious movie will slip in a joke or two. That doesn't mean the movie is now a comedy movie.

Just because there are funny elements doesn't mean it's a comedy. It's an Action film. are you comparing this film to Superbad for example which is a good example of a comedy.

If it is a comedy then the Cleveland Show was the greatest thing to TV since Family Guy.
