Should this be seen in IMAX 3d, or just regular 3D?

Hmm I saw it in IMAX 3D and was duly impressed.

I want to see in IMAX. But if it costs $20, then nobody including my family will not pay for that kind of price.

I saw footage in 3d, at Botcon, which was RealD, digital laser projector 3d. Assuming it was also properly configured to look kick ass since it was for Bay's stuff, with him there.

I saw it in IMAX 3d, and couldn't believe how poor it was, quality wise, compared to Botcon stuff. Even in comparison to the Digital 3d trailer shown before Green Lantern recently at my local, regular theater.

It really is a case by case scenario depending on your theater. But if I had to say 100% one way or another, I'd do digital 3d first, IMAX second, if you feel like spending money.

I'll be doing Digital 3d for my second go around, hoping it's nice and crisp this time.

Go to a real IMAX (as some theaters may make the claim, but aren't) and the difference is night and day, see it in IMAX.

IMAX & 3D are ridiculous! It was my first time and I was blown away with it!

How many chances are you going to get to see a Transformers movie in 3D Imax? Just look at it as a once-off expense. It could be years before there's another.

I wish I had the option.

    yeah, avoid liemax.

I was going to say Imax3d, but that seems to be a poor idea. See it in whichever form gives the most optimal mix of picture size and quality, because it is a visual spectacle kind of movie.

This. The only reason we went to the IMAX 3-D one was it was the first showing. The Glasses are different, the kids could not use their masks and the Quality of the picture was inferior to what we saw at Botcon.

We did and it still sucked compared to the Botcon footage. The IMAX we went to in Tempe, AZ is the only true IMAX in the Southwest.

I saw it at the Providence Place IMAX (only IMAX in Rhode Island) and they NEVER clean the projectors. There was giant dust spots all over the screen. Once I accepted that it was AMAZING!

There is no better 3D than Disney World's attraction Disney's Phillarmagic. Avatar doesn't even touch it.

2D or 2D IMAX (if they offer that) is good. Don't do IMAX 3D though!

I saw it today in regular 3D, and it was amazing. The 3D really worked well, it was very natural.

However, halfway thru the Chicago battle I started to get nauseous, just too much shaky-cam. That may or may not have been exacerbated by the 3D, I'll know when I see it again soon in regular 2D.
