Should they make a new Fortress Maximus figure?

Fortress Maximus was an important character in Headmasters and the Marvel comics, although not too much the original cartoon but he did have a cool if brief appearance there.

I'm surprised they haven't made a new toy of him. Obviously he wouldn't come anywhere near his original size. But I think a redesigned alternate mode, possibly based on his IDW redesign would be good, especially at an Ultra size class.

I would love to see Leader Class figures introduced to the Classic style (but doubtful of it). Sadly, if they did, they would probably make Fort Max a retool of Metroplex. Thing is, would cityformers sell in this day in age?

I've definitely never felt that being a Cityformer was that integral to Fort Max's character. I think he'd be a great Ultra, but I would be really turned off if he weren't a Headmaster. Pretty much the only character who HAS to be a cityformer (or else what's the point?) is Metroplex. And I think we have an okay shot at getting a cyberverse version of him.

They could still choose a new altmode, like a flying fortress or huge battleship. It'd be fine as a leader size class.

I'd be fine with a nice IDW version of Fort Max. Seriously, the Classiverse family has totally killed my sense of "Grrr ARRRRR MUZT HAZ G1 ALTZ MOEDZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". The way I see it, if compromise of altmode or combining gets the figure out, I'm more than game. Triple-changing, though, Astrotrain and Octankor prove that there's no excuse.

No. Why? Because kids won't care and parents won't spend the money if it's anything that has the size to be worthwhile. The only way we'd get him is if he got turned into the new Bumblebee, which isn't going to happen.

So, no, Hasbro should not make a new Fortress Maximus figure.

I would love to see a cyberverse build-a-bot/city. 4-5 set combine to become one big city and a giant robot.

I think HasTak could not an IDW Fortress Maximus out of the park. It would fit in with the Classics style too at a rough voyager size. I'd bite.

I was actually just thinking that.

3-4 "leader class" "cyberverse playsets" with minifigures, that combines into Maximus.

While this isn't something most would want, I would love to see what they could do with an updated take on the character in Prime (which would make for a better chance of a new Fort Max toy, imho). Maybe make him the guardian of a city, rather than the city itself, and keep the headmaster aspect to him. Then bring back the Ultra size-class for him and an upgrade to Tidal Wave (who could be his nemesis, and also bring in a minicon into the mix of things), and of course more similarly sized bots and cons, and repaints of course (RID themed Fort Max, Energon themed Tidal Wave, etc...).

I would only be interested in a Voyager/Ultra-sized IDW Fort Max. I don't have the real estate for a ridiculously large playset.

That would be pretty neat. I wouldn't mind a re-invisioned supreme class in the next classics line either, or just a straightforward encore release.
