The idea crossed my mind just yesterday... There's quite a few movies being done using the Digital 3D these days, and despite most of them being totally CGI animations, there are a few live action ones as well.

So I'm sure this must've crossed someone's mind at some point, but would anyone like to see TF3 done in the cinema with 3D?

No way! It would be mind numbing trying to keep up with everything on screen.

    no

Its way to expensive. If it was 3D then the robots would get 5 minutes of screen time. Its too expensive. keep it the way it is.

    NO!

3-D is just way out of the question. Stick to regular theater and IMAX theater formats, please.

No! If the production team was focused on making 3D look cool, then the non 3D version and DVD will look like crap!

Plus, the robots will get around ten minutes of Screen time.

yes. 3D would make it easier to discern the robot anatomy from the shapeless clutter of shrapnel. The current problem with the designs is you have a flat mess of overlapping parts that doesn't read well at all, whereas in 3D, some parts would pop into the foreground and the rest would fall off into the background, and it'd be much clearer to see what was what.

Bay has said 3D is a gimmick, but since when has he been against gimmicks? I suspect the reality is he is against 3D because he is too wedded to analogue photography. He's going against himself here. 3D is awesome.

It's WAY too much to take in as it is. No 3-D.

Bay says he wants to avoid 3D due to his personal distaste for it, I think as others have said that it will just unnecessarily drive up the cost.

No, 3-D is a gimmick used for movies that need it to make money, while I'm sure TF3 will rake in the dough anyway.

As far as "3d is too expensive" goes:

    1) processing power gets cheaper every year.

    2) ROTF took in $400 million.

    3) More efficient simplified designs would actually look better and bring down the cost.

4)3D movies tend to gross higher(see Ice Age 3, and The Final Destination).

I said no only cause I like the way the movie series is just fine now. BUT! I would really love to see some new Beastwars in all 3D or even a G1 retelling in 3D, that would be awesome. It would also have to be really good like Pixar quality or it would just fall flat I think.

    1) True.

    2) True.

    3) So... you expect them to change the robot aesthetics two movies in? For the sake of 3D? I highly doubt it. Plus, I'd take robots all the time over robots most of the time in 3D.

    4) True, but ROTF still was leagues ahead of both.
