Should Takara make a Masterpiece Unicron?

I've been looking at some photos of Takara's 2010 Unicron lately and debating whether or not I should get him. Despite the improvement over the Armada release, I can't bring myself to love the remold because of several design issues that just throw me off. As much as I love Unicron's G1 design, I know he didn't have horns on his shoulders, bulbous legs or a clear hand, but I'm more concerned with how he looks in planet mode. Less than half of it is actually spherical, and even these are detacheable parts. His feet are blatantly visible from the front and the shape of the mouth is wrong. I believe that Takara can only do Unicron justice with a Masterpiece version, although I know that many are satisfied with the current release. Would you want to see Unicron added to the Masterpiece line, bearing in mind that his release will delay any other characters on the wish list like Galvatron and Shockwave for up to a year?

I think the 2010 Unicron works well as a Masterpiece already.
Yes, the alt mode is pretty bad, but I really don't care. He's the main attraction on my (86) movie shelf together with MP Grimlock.

If mp 10 is 250usd this would be 300+ easy. Way too expensive but I'd still love to see it :p

I agree. By this point, I feel like we're behind on the Masterpiece line with the second go at Prime, Starscream [and the Seekers], and the eventual Megatron. The Masterpiece line would really benefit from making new molds of different characters.

I would think it would be better if they tackled a mold they haven't attempted yet. Devy comes to mind.

I don't think so. The several remakes of the Armada mold are enough.

I'm content with 2010 Unicron. In spite of the differences, I don't see much of a need to change him.

This is pretty much why I decided to sell my MPs a few months back...the direction of the line didn't make much sense.

I've been wondering about that as well, however I think another Masterpiece Megatron is unlikely. Prime and Starscream were easy to redesign because they evolved from an already successful transformation. But Megatron's transformation and overall execution is flawed in so many ways that Takara would need to radically redesign the figure before considering a second release, and Megatron's alt mode doesn't allow much flexibility in that respect. Secondly, you should note that a new MP Megatron in scale with MP-10 would also have an alt mode in scale with real life pistols. What controversy hampered the original release would kill any chance of a downsized version before it has a chance to hit the stores.

Not to go too off topic, but they could use a tank alt mode for MP Megatron but keep him in G1 colors like a prototype picture I saw (that may or may not have been fake.)

I honestly don't see the need for a MP Unicron. It would definitely be interesting, but not necessary. Let's get a MP Megatron that can actually be sold in the US and other areas with similarly ridiculous toy "safety" laws first, and then we can start talking about some others.

No thanks. I think we have too many Unicron's as it is.

I'd rather go for a Masterpiece Galvatron.

Nope, don't see the need. I have all the Unicrons I think I would want already, and the Armada mold is fine. I'd rather see an MP spot given to a different character.

he doesn't have to have trailer the fact of the size and the fact that all of the toy transforms would cost then a poxy trailer.

You're not making any sense. Takara are keeping all the new Masterpieces the same size, and all their parts transform too.

I'm disappointed by the low support for a Masterpiece Unicron. You'd probably change your tune if you saw pics of a cartoon-accurate figure in both modes, especially if it had such gimmicks as a light-up planet mouth.

A new Megatron is going to happen. To think otherwise is foolish. MP-10 needs a play mate. And it'll be a gun. No need to worry about gun laws. Takara would be the one releasing it not Hasbro.

And and Masterpiece Unicron would be great. I'd buy him if they made one. But I'm happy with my 2010 Unicron.
