I’m all for bringing back characters but Leo really has no reason to be involved. It’d be one thing if they brought him back for Dark of the Moon, but that’s as far as he could’ve realistically gone on.

 

Yep he's the wacky relative that believes in the alien/history/black ops/ might have worked for the government but nobody can confirm it. And actually comes through with some legit info and surprises the hell out of the family (aka Optimus and crew).

Seeing him phoning in his info in TLK was a treat because once again he knows a few things. Hopefully he'll help explain about Unicron's horns in the next film. After all Sir Edmund did make him part of the club.

I think you're confusing Leo with Agent Simmons.

 

Remember when photos from RotF filming began to surface, everyone saw the picture of Leo riding in Bumblebee with Mikaela? There was huge speculation that there'd be a love triangle, like he was some kind of hunk about to step in and steal her from Sam for a bit. But then he turned out to be this goofy weirdo who couldn't land her if he tried. xD

 

Frankly, I think character comebacks need to be minimal. I'm not saying never, but rarely. I think The Last Knight brought back too many characters and Easter eggs that added nothing. We definitely don't need confirmed dead robots and humans coming back, that's for sure. Even if he is last seen alive, Leo is not high enough on that list for me to want him to come back.

 

Only if it's because they're attending his funeral.

Jokes apart, he was just a fun character... no need for him to come back. I remember he even said that Michael Bay wanted him for the next movie  

 

Why would the aliens "want" him this time? Because of his website again? If he returns it should be in a Simmons spin-off movie in a sidekick role imo.

Same. I really don't like characters who exist solely for comic relief, but I did actually find him funny. I just don't need him to return.

 

The problem with ROTF is that every single fraction of the plot seemed to be advanced by a different character and much of it is just one character directing them to another character. Leo sends them to Simmons, Simmons speculates on the Seekers, Wheelie confirms the Seekers, Seeker Jetfire actually manages to send them to Egypt, dump the backstory and send them on their quest for the Primes, then the Twins accidentally figure out where the Primes are hidden. Simmons might've also helped figure out that riddle, I don't really remember.

I'd actually love to see a spinoff film with those two. They'd need to go up against a super cartoony Decepticon commander, preferably voiced by David Kaye and styled after BW Megatron.

 

He was pretty fun imo. So I wouldn't mind him coming back or so...

Fuck no, he shouldn't have been in ROTF. Easily one of the most pleasant surprises in the lead up to DOTM was learning he wasn't in it as Bay promised.
