Okay I have a temp jobs lined up that I start on Friday. But a new restaurant is opening up soon. And Monday they are holding open interviews from 3-8pm I'm torn as to whether I should go or not 1)As the restaurant is newly opening,it would be a good chance to get in as they'd need LOTS of employees 2)It's not a lock and if push cam to shove I still have the Inbound job I start on Friday But I'm scared of tipping my hand if you know what I mean. God I'm so conflicted, what would you do if you were in my situation?
Of course go. You always apply to different places and see who's going to give you the best offer. In some cases you can use one as leverage against the other (company A offered me this amount of money, will you, company B, do the same?). Make them fight over you!
As long as the two things don’t conflict go to the interview. Temp jobs are just that, temporary. As you are working as a temp you shouldn’t stop looking for a full time job.
I'm not even sure of what the conflict is. The interview wouldn't interfere with your call center temp job. Of course you should go.
I don't know why,I'm just apprehensive Drippy.I feel like I'd be tipping my hand which I know is idiotic And it would be a better work environment then McDonald's was. This restaurant is called Pony Coral & think of it like Applebee's 1)I'd be around people my own age which in turn would 2)Help me make some friends & 3)I've always wanted to get into restaurant management I'm close to 100% sure I'll go,just that I'm apprehensive about tipping my hand you know I know this temp job has a good chance of being a permanent one.Just that I don't want to put all my eggs in1 basket
It's time for you to see what's out there. Even if you get caught by your current employer how bad can it be? Just give it a try and see if you like it. If yes then get a full time job there and be happy.
Buddy, go to the interview, whats the worst that could happen? You don;t get it? well you;ve got a job already, so no loss. You won;t win something better if you don;t even try...
Is that a promise? Hard to put into words exactly Buzzbeak, but in layman's terms what Drippy said is accurate My experience with McDonald's has left me VERY paranoid
Bad luck about having a temp job? Bad luck about not getting hired at another (full time) position while you have a temp job? Anyhoo, good luck bud with whatever decision you make.
Essentially my experience with McDonald's left a bad impression about work in general. I was there just short of 2 yrs and I was dismissed even though I was a VERY solid worker Now I'm nervous about anything job related as I feel like I have to CONSTANTLY look over my shoulder. It's very disconserting as EVERYONE deserves job security IMPO.It's not healthy to constantly feel like your job's in danger
Welcome to the working world where unless you are part of that minority that lucked into doing what they really love your job sucks, your co-workers suck, and your boss is an idiot. The sooner you just accept that and learn to work around it the better off you’ll be. … Yes I’m a pessimist what’s it to you?
Out of curiousity, do you ever just make a decision on your own without always posting about it here and looking for answers?
I have to agree with FD Wreckgar, was that post really necessary. It doesn't really come across as friendly And FYI I already had the decision made, just that posting & hearing everyone else's opinions.Helped make me feel more at ease with my decision.I honestly don't see the wrong in that
