I make it a point to actually open my Transformers but I have bought so many that I do have some that remain in the box for weeks or even months before being liberated from their cardboard prisons.

Several months ago I stumbled upon Titanium War Within Grimlock and Prowl.
I bought both immediately and I am glad I did because they were the last two and I never saw them before or since.

Well, they've been staring at me here recently, begging me to let them free.
But I've seen on eBay that they fetch a pretty nice sum.
To be honest, I think the Titanium line was a pretty big disaster and I regret getting all but about two of them.
I can see myself opening them and then Grimlock's arms falling off every time you touch him, or Prowl's being unable to stand, or any of the number of issues that plague the rest of the line.
What do you guys and gals think?
Give into temptation and sell them, or open them?

I just don't want to open them and be disappointed.

My default answer to this type of question is open them open them open them!
Having opened these items myself, I'd say don't bother.

My default answer is open them, but with these Titaniums, they are basically on display while in the box. So...leave them in the box. Or sell them. They are pretty crappy figures.

I thought you were going to be talking about something... y'know... interesting. A G1 Bumblejumper, red-footed Prime, something like that. Titaniums? Probably one of the few things where I'd say leave them in the packaging. The line pretty much sucked as toys. Personally, I'd sell them.

I'm MISB anyway, so of course I say don't open, but these in particular will probably make you happier if you never transform them. It's like Shrodinger's cat: while closed, the toys may be great or they may be crap. Once you open these, you collapse the wave form and I think you will find the chance of crap being much greater than 50/50.

Open them. They really aren't super rare valuable figures anyhow. The TRU's around here had them warm the shelves for a while.

This reminds me of my sealed carded Action Masters. Should I open those? They're about the same caliber, only older. It's Jazz and Bumblebee.

Right now eBay has a sealed Grimlock for $80 and an open Prowl for $60.
You might want to go get the figures if they're warming the shelves.
    I paid $30 for both.

They are not the same caliber.
Action Masters > Titaniums any day.

You've got a skateboarding Jazz and you haven't opened him? For shame, man. For shame.

Oh, I passed up that Grimlock when I got back into collecting. (bahh..titaniums are crap..) now I'd LOVE to have him at a reasonable price. I'm trolling for cheap titaniums now because they display great MISB.

I love Titanium. Don't see why people hate them. Open them up.

They HAD them when the were released. Obviously they don't have them anymore, they were released a few years ago. Besides, eBay prices don't really dictate rarity. I have some things that are much rarer and more valuable then Titanium TRU Exclusives.

OPEN THEM!!!! Rip the package open with your teeth, tear at the cardboard, rip the toy out by the twist ties, put the toy on your shelf, defecate on the tattered reamins of the package and then BURN IT!!!!!!

    In my opinion.

yeah, those figures are lame. Your better off selling them and buying something worth your money. 80 and 60 for the two? For 140 you can pick up a decent TF worth buying.

although, I find it hard to believe you could get 140 for those two. I remember the TRU web site had them buy one get one free and they still had them in stock afterwards.

Ill give you my standard answer:

if you cannot picture your self selling them ever then open them, if you can see your self selling them then don't.

If you plan to sell them anyway, keep them sealed. It will fetch you more if you do. If you plan to keep'm open them. Personally I got my titaniums at retail price or below. I bought a collection of them from someone here for like $8.00 each. Anything after G2 I will open up. When I saw this video, I was like "wth", personally I will never do that.
