    Hi,

Like the title says.... should I open a misb Metrotitan. I really want one for display, but can´t find a loose one. Should I just open my misb and put him on display?
Did anyone open there misb metrotitan? And was it the right decision?

    LMK....

I can see where this thread is going

50% - Free the plastic man from his prison
50% - Keep it sealed... think of the resale!!

My opinion, open it if you want to, or if you want get the KO Metrotitan for the loose one. Another option is get a MIB Metrotitan to open for display, as rare as the figure is, I'm hard pressed to think there would be a huge difference in price for a MIB vs a loose one.

If the box is in really good condition, AFA it and buy a second Metrotitan to use as your display version. AFA 85 Metrotitan is worth about $2500. Open-box Metrotitans are about $500 ~ $1000. That is a huge price difference. But if the box is in AFA 75 condition or lower, I'd say open it. The price difference probably isn't that much between AFA 75 and open-box Metrotitan.

There is a lot of speculation that the Ehobby repaint of Metroplex will be Metrotitan. If that happens, watch people put up their vintage Metrotitans in droves for $500 or less. Patience is a virtue :)

I won't open it. AFA grade and display it. Besides, they are reissuing metroplex. Who know, they might do an ehobby metrotitan. That's what I'm waiting for.

Normally I'd say open it but since this is a rare toy, I'd just buy a ko and open that.

MG wins this thread with another comprehensive answer

For a personal opinion, I'd open it, but I open all of mine. Though with the possibility of ehobby doing him, I'd try to hold on, don't envy you, I'd be tempted every day!

Yeah, I also echo Might Gaine here.

If you're that concerned about opening a MISB figure, AFA that sucker, sell it to some sap with more money than sense, and use the money to buy an assortment of MIB, Loose, Reissue, or KO versions to play with till your heart's content.

...or alternately, enjoy the visceral thrill of opening a brand new figure that hasn't been touched in 20 years. You only live once. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Keep it in box. Couldn't have reasoned it better than Might Gaine.

Although if you do decide to open it, do it with unconventional style; like a power saw or something.
