Like the title says, I kind of want a shirt from Hot Topic. I totes hate that store, one of the main reasons being that the people that buy the so-called "nerdy" shirts don't know jack shit about what the act like they like, and are just posers.
I honestly don't consider my hobby "nerdy" by any means, though some others do.

The shirt in question can be found here: Novelty T-Shirts: 2 for $28 | Clothing

I honestly don't know if it will make me seem like one of those people I described, and if that shirt makes me seem like one can anyone recommend me any sites or stores that sell good transformers shirts?

hah hey man, stay away from that haterade. If you like the shirt go for it. Seems like you have a passion for TF by the very fact that you're on these boards. Don't worry about what people may think, the shirt itself is awesome!

Buy it if you want it. Fuck what other people think. You know you're not one of "those" that you speak of, at least you realize it.

LOL I just bought a purple decepticon symbol shirt from Hot Topic last night!!! My husband wanted me to get the hat too.
I also got some teenage mutant ninja turtle stuff too.
If that makes me a 33 yer old female nerd so be it, I am who I am and there's no point in changing to be anything else for anyone else. There will always be someone hatin' no matter what you change.
You want it, you buy it, be dammed anyone else.

they had a TON of transformers stuff in the store!!

If I were a soundwave fan....I'd sport it. If it makes you happy, then buy it. Don't let other people's haterade persuade you to not buy something that you'd enjoy. That's just silly.

The true non-conformist position is to not care blah blah blah. I've purchased t-shirts at Hot-Topic and I consider myself a staunch individualist:lol

Oh and to be extremely off topic, I absolutely love the feeling of when I get awkward stares as I walk to my car at the mall with a target bag of robuts. Haters gonna Hate.

Oh my gosh, that's adorable. Buy it.

I wish there was a Hot Topic here.

Hot Topic is trash and you can find any of those shirts much cheaper online through various places; with the added bonus of knowing your coin didn't help ruin alternative culture.

QFT. I stop in and get a TF shirt from there whenever I want.

Do you mind recommending where? I just sort of picked hot topic to buy it because I don't have to pay shipping and it's nearby. I also don't have to go through the hassle putting my cash on a credit card, I'm 14 and I dopn't own one as of yet.

I have never been in a Hot Topic before - don't think I'm missing anything.

Yeah, the real concern is "Does this shirt provide the appearance that I desire?" If your answer is "yes", then go for it!

Also, for some reason all of this talk about Haterade is making me thirsty for some reason.

I've never had "awkward" stares because i had toys in my store bag. Maybe MO is just pretty accepting and I'm glad i do not live in other states. Or maybe some people are paranoid that they are being stared at.

Luckily I did have some gatorade in the cooler outside, my family is having a memorial day cookout this weekend!

I also forgot to say that I don't like Hot Topic because of their " let's make this T-shirt of a really crappy band who just screams all the time and make tons of money off of it" attitude. Stupid scene kids.:p

It's usually just some stupid teenagers who are "too cool" for toys. I just accept it because I hate most teenagers anyways.

I use 80stees.com when possible, but there are plenty of alternatives.

As much as I'm not a fan of hot topic, their business practices, or the clientele they attract, if they have a t-shirt I like, I'm not going to stress over buying it. Who knows, if they produce better merch, maybe they'll become better in other respects.
