    Transformers >>>> Other Robot/Mecha franchises.

Oh and, most Macross looks all the same from one to another.

    You're asking the wrong crowd.

Are you big on Macross? Like you have all/most/a good number of them and this adds to that collection? Or is this just something new?

Otherwise, that Railracer is all kinds of awesome. I'd get one if I weren't so strict on only collecting one line.

It would lead you down a dark path of empty wallets, shattered liquor bottles, and loose women (morally, naturally).

Cartoon's great, but I never got into Macross toys. They're just way too collector-intended, and priced to match.

TFs are all-around fun. I vote for those.

RID all the way!! especially the God Magnus & JRX/Railracer giftset. these two TFs are just full of awesomeness man. totally great in overall design for it's time.

As for Macross, the price of one Yamato product could buy you two or more TFs. so it's really a no-brainer for you to decide ;) .

Damn, I've just lost my post raving how awesome RiD toys are. This hasn't happened here for a long time :(

Anyway, I'll make it short then. I'd recommend RiD, because there are so many figures in your list. Value for money FTW.

The Yamatos are great, but don't fool yourself, they're not 'toys'. You'll have to be pretty careful with it.

And if you're getting one, go for the new 1/60 Skull 1 instead of the 1/48. 1/48 is a dead line, don't get involved with it.

Go for the TFs. Rail Racer is still the best gestalt ever done in any TF line, and Landfill ain't bad either. Magnus is a must have if you've got RID Prime. The Macross toy... well, it's not like it'll be your last chance to buy one of those, is it?

I say get the Yamato! However, it should be known that I am I RID hater! To me Rail Racer is the only cool figure you listed on the TF side. I have one 1/48th Yamato, and a 1/52nd? Toynami. The Yamato it is pretty impressive, but I can't say the same for the Toynami!

I have a 1/60 VF-1S. It's a fairly sturdy toy, but the hands leave something to be desired.
Although, as you can see, most answers are going to be biased here when it comes to comparing TF's to something else lol.
although, looking at your links, you do get a LOT more with the TF's. Therefore I think it'd be a better deal to get them.

    Depends.

Do you want a robot with a flying mode or robots that disguise as vehicles?

if it was the badass Skull One Fighter or the SDF Macross itself I'd say go Macross, but TF is a better idea.

I don't see any point to get a VF-1A. If you only going to get one macross figure then it will have to be a VF-1S.

I'd go for that Macross figure at that price, you can always go back for that TF stuff as it wont be changing in price.

as a tf fan, as well as a macross fan, I've definitely got to say go with the carrobots figures. just get prime from that series, and you've practically got all of the cool figures from it. and that's an unbelievable price, too.

Thanks all. I decided on getting the RID figures after seeing the actual price that eBay and other online retailer are selling Macross figures. I ended up spending $116.97 at toyarena.com . With the discount coupon code, it covered the shipping.

I will probably pick up a Macross figure in a few weeks.
