The line does have updates like Seaspray and Banzaitron as well as Legends versions of Snadstorm and Hound. Some of the scouts like Breacher and Hubcap are sort of similar to G1 bots. Also a few of th deluxes use a few names from G2 like Terradive and Voaygers like Highbrow are reference to his G1 counterpart with a somewhat similar alt mode. There's a G1 ratchet Deluxe painted in G1 colors, the green Legends Devastator in G1 colors and even the Rampage among the Ruins 3 pack that comes with a G1 paint scheme of Deluxe Ravage.

HTFD will be whatever I want it to be. Each bot will be whatever I want them to be in my collection. I don't think it matters which bot belongs to where. Its a personal preference.

    Sure why not?

HftD is like a textbook filler line. It's clearly mostly inspired by RotF, but you will get out of it what you put into it. I've got HftD figures leading my RotF displays, and I have HtfD (and RotF) figures dotted in my Classics displays. Hubcap has a tendency to migrate, I can't decide whether he's a better Movieverse Seeker or G2 Hubcap.

My opinion is it's a Classics line for the movieverse.

Why does it matter what it's classified as? There are some pseudo-Classics styled figured in it but there's also Movie-Styled figured as well. Just put them where they fit best in your collection. I'll never understand why this is an "issue" for people at all...

It's case-by-case. Don't be so OCD, just enjoy the toys.

In my listing of my TFs, I have RotF on the page with the movie toys. However, I generally consider a few of them such as Seaspray to be Classics-related toys.

I am very tempted to just take a picture of my transformer shelves where every line is mix and matched to drive some OCD fans off the wall.

"ZOMG an animated figure on the movie shelves!"
    "GAHHH a G1 in Classics!"

i tend to try to keep certain "lines" displayed together...but then i also have some figs mixed in with others that some might think is weird or "wrong"

for example i have deluxe Energon Starscream, WFC Meg, WFC Soundwave, Gen Cliffjumper and Beast Machines Tankor all on my "Classics" Shelf. none of them are actually "Classics" per say, but for my taste they fit in very well next to everyone else i happen to have so far :)

so i think just put them where ya want.. and line can be split up and put wherever lol

Well it is so mixed up now and they (Hasbro) keep changing the names so there's no rhyme or reason to it. Just a long as we get great toys I don't care what the package says. I wonder what the acronym kids are doing now, chughftd?

Should HFTD be considered a line at all? It was a sticker on packages and tfwiki describes it as a promotion.

So how is that different from a line? Reveal The Shield says it on the actual box.

To be honest I don't know. I guess I just don't understand the need to categorize everything to oblivion. Should the Star Wars figures with the Boba Fett promotion be called the Boba Fett line?

As a whole, I do not count HFTD as a Classics line. A lot of the toys designed for it were in the movie asthetic, and so I classify the figures as such.

Except Classics Seaspray and Breacher. I'm not one of those people who hate updated mini-bots because they're taller than before even though some of those figures made no sense because they were so small (Powerglide, namely, because I simply can not take a tiny A-10 seriously). Thus, because HFTD Seaspray clearly was designed to be G1 Seaspray, I classify him as Classics. I tack Breacher along for the ride because he is designed to work with Seaspray (and he's got a very classics-esque face).

Well, saying HFTD is alot easier than simply saying "yellow-orange packaging".

Some of them fit in well with classics. I have Terradive, Tomahawk, and Seaspray on my classics shelving.

I buy the ones that look classic enough for me and add them to my classics/Henkei/Generations/etc.
I have Seaspray and Banzaitron with the classics and will add Tomahawk and Terradive and possibly Highbrow to the classics when I get them.
