Would it be nice for story reasons? Yes.

Is there any chance in hell we'll actually get one? Doubt it.

The Great War, in the movies, was stated to have been a battle over control of the AllSpark between the Autobots and the Decepticons. the prequel comics tend to go into greater detail about how the war started although it may or may not totally link up to established movie cannon.

The actual movies are, obviously, to sell toys. And Bumblebee edition Camaros. The actual backstory about the war, outside of the fact it happened and the Transformers are pretty much marooned on Earth, isn't really needed outside of parts where shit needs to be retconned (such as the whole deal with the Ark being on the moon in the past two movies and nobody thought to bring it up until DOTM)

And what are you talking about with "figures of everybody we didn't get" in the first movie? We GOT figures for everybody who was in the first movie. Half the first movie toy line was in fact generic Autobots and Decepticon drones and Wreckage (who is too cool a toy to be called a drone). And of the character toys for those who were actually in the movie, there are at least TWO different versions of them. Who the heck, in your mind, did not get a toy?

Since prequels tell the story of what happend before, and basically the comics have already told us what has happend, (if anyone wants to count the comics as canon or not), then I really see no need for a prequal. Although would people like the thought of seeing more Cybertronian alt modes? :inquisiti

I honestly don't think an entire movie would work, but they could have like flashbacks throughout the feature film. The only reason I would like a prequel, it would be because I like to see the Transformers in their natural states, and speaking their language.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Transformers on other planets and star systems. Like, where were Prime and 2nd wave of Autobots been hiding out before they came to Earth.

Doing one prequel movie period is a stupid idea, much less a whole trilogy.

I could maybe see some sort of animated movie to cover what happened on Cybertron before the live action films. Just far too expensive and far too long to render each scene of an entire film at the same level of detail as the bots in the films.

If we get more live action films it either has to be something set after the first three films, a reboot, or one of those odd things that are different but not really a reboot either.

Without Earth modes and human characters a live action prequel would just be an insanely expensive animated film since it would all be CGI rendered footage.

if you think about it some people don't read comics and there fore and might be a prequel i think! with me i dont read america comics i read japenses comics not transformers comics! i just think the prequel of the comic for the movie were lame! and each movie goes buy they add stuff or change it so it is not consitant!

That wouldn't be my idea of a prequel movie for the TF film franchise, no.

Nope. Firstly prequel would cost a fortune and have no human involvement, so everything is gonna be cgi. The tf would be in their natural form which means no transformation from earth vehicle. Part of the fun of the tf movies is seeing a car turn into a impeccable robot and interact in earth envinroment. Also the tf would speak cyberteonian in the movies so the whole thing is gonna be subtitled.

    No.

Something that doesn't continue on the story, would result in a toy line with nothing but cybertronian toys, and only setting is a metal barren wasteland?
