Should Hasbro have lucky draws like Takara does in Japan? If they do what should be the first lucky draw?

IMHO they could do it if they wanted to. My first thought would be a gold plated Classics Voyger Optimus, and Megatron set.

I don't think there would be much of a point for it. The U.S doesn't really promote toys the same way Japan does

Honestly, I couldn't care less for lucky draws. If I got one I would most likely sell it immedately and get myself a regular one.

I don't want Hasbro lucky draw figures. But I would like to see mail-away figures make a return. Clip and save and send in those redemption points!

No way. Trying to score an Alt. N Prime was a pain in the ass and that was just a SDCC exclusive. Lucy Draws would be even worse.

If I had my way every figure would be easily available to everybody. So "no".

I'd be okay with it, as long as they stuck with the gold-silver-black-clear types, and not actual exclusive-style repaints like Nemesis Prime or E-Ultra Magnus. I'm never gonna try to get one of the former, but it'd make it easier for fans who are into that stuff to get their hands on one.

And if I ever did get one by accident, they hey, big Ebay bucks for me.

God no. It's hard enough to complete a line as it is. *shudders remembering how hard it was to live in the UK and complete Beast Machines, let alone anythng else*

NO. Some exclusives are bad enough, adding LDs into the mix would be pretty chaotic. It'd be like that Space Camp promotion in Cybertron, did anyone win anything bigger than a keyring?
Also, anywhere outside the US and maybe Canada would be completely ineligable so it'd just be one more thing for the rest of us to miss out on.

Not necessarily a lucky draw, but Hasbro did have a drawing in 1986 where the grand prize was one of five "electric powered Go-Cart that looks just like Hot Rod!" The entry form was found on the back of the glow in the dark posters. Never seen a picture, never heard of any surviving examples, but I'd hope it would look pretty sweet.

Beyond that, never heard of Hasbro offering a limited toy or item as a contest prize.

No, I don't care for exclusives. I think every toy should be avaliable to everyone who wants it at a decent price. I mean most of the alternators were so difficult to track down they may has well have been exclusives.

Alternator Nemesis Prime is about the closest thing to a lucky draw we've ever had and if that ever happens again, I will personally burn the internet to the ground so I don't have to hear about it.

I'd like to add a great big HELL NO!!! and I actually own a few of the Japanese ones. I think there are too many of them as it is, though it helped cure me of being a completist...I'm with the suggestion to bring back mail away or even HTS.com exclusives long before the lucky draw bit.

The contest Hasbro did for a lucky draw Optimus (with your head) saw a LOT of fans dissapointed they didn't win...I don't think spreading that level of dissapointment is a good thing.

Yeah, no thanks on lucky draws. If Hasbro did them, I would just have to ignore them the way I do the Takara lucky draws.

Absolutely not. Not because they'd be hard to get mind you, but because lucky draws (if Takara is anything to go by) tend to be unimaginative boring monochromatic repaints.
